For helping me realize others are hurt more.
Thank you, pain
For helping me adapt and overcome.
Thank you, death
For helping him go to a happier place.
Thank you, sickness
For helping her love for her husband evolve.
Thank you, sadness
For making me realize tears are promises.
Promises to overcome this pain someday
And promises to win one day for all time.
Sadness taught me all these things
So I say it one more time: thank you sadness.
