32.Duchess pt2

Bang!

A loud gunshot rang in their backyard.Birds all flee from the trees,startled by the sudden sound.Y/n smirked in victory when she saw that she hit bullseye

"Father taught you well"Asteria who was sitting a little far on the chair looked up from her book.

"Yeah he did"y/n sighed reloading her gun.She could hear voices of men a little far away.Asteria and y/n both looked at the direction of the voice

It was Thomas Shelby,again,shaking hands with her father.Y/n turned her body and squinted her eyes to see him better,just when he locked eyes with her suddenly.His blue eyes hidden under the dark shadow of his cap.

Asteria looked back at y/n to see they were in a stare down

"What's with him?Is it going to be like this the whole time?With him coming here again and again?"y/n huffed shaking her head and looking away from him

"I think so"she said looking at him once again from the corner of her eye.

Thomas Shelby was a man who was frequently being seen at there residence.He used to come there often to talk about business with his father and sometimes y/n was asked to come and sit with them

The energy of the room used to change completely and they used to look at each other all the time when her father used to speak

"Alright boy,you look healthy"she smiled rubbing her horse's hoof.He neighed at the compliment making her chuckle

"What's his name?"a familiar voice said.When she looked to her side she saw Tommy leaning against the door of the stable

"Marquis"

He walked closer to her and the horse with his hands behind his back.He stood beside her and stared at the horse,it had brown beautiful eyes and looked quite healthy

"Beautiful name"

"You like horses too?"she asked.Tommy looked at her and nodded

"They calm me down.Never got used to them dying in the war,never got used to them getting sick"he sighed softly.Y/n bit her lip almost feeling a little sad

"Mother wants me to change.She doesn't like me for who I am but my father wants me to he this way and even I do.But it's just,the look of disappointment on my mothers face is a look I can't get used to"she said,slightly tears forming on the corner of her eyes

"And?"he said

"Dunno,just needed this to get off my chest.Just wanted to say this to someone"y/n said looking into his eyes,for a second there she saw his eyes look at her lips

"And why was I the person you wanted to say this too?"he asked.Y/n bit her lip and looked away to hide the blush that was forming on her cheek suddenly

"Dunno,thought that you were the same"she rubbed her horse's hoof.Tommy almost smiled

"I am" listening to his words she looked back into his eyes and smiled to herself.That was the first moment,the first time they looked at each other with different eyes

Y/n and Tommy got closer with time.Whenever he used to come to there house,y/n hating to admit it,used to be excited by his arrival

They used to smoke together outside in a corner every time they wished too.Surprisingly they were extremely similar

But every good tale has a dark twist to it

Y/n's father called Tommy home for dinner one day,yes business was to be done but on the same time he had something important to tell to Tommy

"As a friend Mr Shelby,I have a humble request"her father said.Y/n was hiding in the back corridor listening to them

"I know it is a lot to ask,but in return of this I am willing to give a fortune if you wish mr Shelby"Tommy calmly listened to what he had to say

"I want you to marry my daughter"y/n and Tommy had the same expression on there face.Her mouth parted open with shock,and her heart did a flip

"Marry me?"she whispered to herself and silently walked away from there.Her hand on her heart that was beating on such a fast rate

"Marry your daughter?"tommy asked

"In return I'm agreeing to give you a position in the parliament as the MP mr Shelby as you are OBE.And I have agreed to also give you the control over Cambridge racetracks since I have given up on that business"

Tommy stared at him for a while.He didn't know what he was thinking when he said what he said

He agreed to marry y/n because.....he knew he had something for her in his heart.He knew what it was was real

"And in return of all that.......I want you to marry Asteria"
