34.Duchess pt4

Love was a curse for people who were not put together,not by destiny but by people themselves.Y/n,for she was her fathers beloved daughter and that her wish were always considered by her father,she could've have easily told her father that she loved Tommy and wanted her to be his wife

But that she cared for her sister,and that she saw her sister was actually very happy,she didn't say anything,and that was torturing her

Because the wedding was coming closer and closer day by day.Whenever her family used to meet Tommy,or his family used to meet them,Tommy would always take her in a room alone and kiss her with his heart for that he used to miss her

This was their secret,a dirty secret,that she was the one he actually loved and not her sister.Sometimes Tommy used to say that he would tell her father to say no to the marriage for her but to that y/n used to reply

"No tommy,its for my sisters happiness.She has given me everything and has comforted me for life,now it's time for me to do it for her"

He used to feel hurt but he never used to talk back and just used to give in with a defeated sigh

But things started to get difficulty as they got closer to the marriage.

Y/n was regretting everything,she was feeling more and more hurt to see that Tommy would never be hers again

Her sister came out wearing her wedding dress to show it to her and she felt tears almost slip from her eyes

And the day finally came.The day that was the hardest one ever for her.Her sister came out of the room with her white beautiful gown,a veil covering her face beautifully

And her own sister was the one walking her down the aisle.Y/n wore a beautiful light pink gown,she clearly was uncomfortable but the pain was making it all numb

The doors opened to the church,there cousins walked in first.The Shelby clan was sitting on the benches beside the aisle.

Arthur standing behind his brother for he was his best man.

Tommy had no sign of emotions on his face,they were plain and dull.

But they did change when she walked in.A bouquet in her hand,her eyes down.She slowly walked in the church looking up,locking eyes with her love

Tommy's eyes softened.It was almost like he was imagining her as his bride.Y/n didn't smile but she also didn't look away

She reached up the step and stood on the other side and waited for her sister.Tommy looked at her and she did too before they both looked away when they heard the doors open again

Her sister walked inside with her father,a beautiful smile on her face,a blush on her cheeks and her eyes fixated on Tommy

It hurt his heart to know that this wasn't real,that y/n would be just a dream.He would still see her even after they get married because he didn't care,but it was her who said she couldn't do that

By the time he was thinking that Asteria was standing in front of him.Tommy not knowing what to do looked at Arthur

And Arthur told the priest to start

"Dearly beloved,we are gathered here today in a beautiful bond of this man and this woman"y/n felt something rise up to her throat.She could feel like her legs were giving up on her and that she would puke or faint any second

Her breathing was getting unsteady by every word the priest spoke

"I request you to lift the veil"Tommy's hands had never hesitated to do something and they didn't do it today for he was imagining his y/n under the veil

When he raised it he saw her.She smiled up at him with bright eyes,her cheeks pink,a soft halo of light surrounding her like she was an angel

He got so lost in those eyes

"Mr Shelby?"he was snapped out of it to see it was Asteria under the veil and he immediately put it down.

Tommy looked at y/n who had red eyes filled with tears.She locked eyes with him.Asteria noticing this,looked at where Tommy was looking to see it was y/n

Asteria looked away feeling confused

"Are we ready to exchange rings?"the priest said and Asteria still confused immediately

Y/n had the ring in her hand,she was feeling like it was burning her skin.Arthur handed the ring to Tommy and waited for y/n to do the same

She felt like she was going in a trance and she continuously fiddled with the ring before she brought her hand to her sister but the ring fell on the ground

Tommy and y/n both went for the ring at the same time,touching hands together.The crowd all looked at them,Asteria looked down to see something she had no idea she would see

In there eyes

Y/n snapped out of it and picked up the ring and Tommy stood back on the step.Asteria saw how his eyes never moved to her but stayed on y/n only

"Oh god"Asteria said feeling breathless.She touched her chest and looked at her sister

"I-I can't I need to go!"And she ran away from there out of the church.Y/n looked at Tommy with shocked eyes and he did the same

She ran behind her sister leaving everyone there confused

"Asteria!"

"Wait Asteria!"she caught up to her running sister and stopped her

"What are you doing?!"y/n shouted

"You-you-and-"

"Take a deep breath alright?"y/n tried to calm her down but it was of no use

"You never fucking said that you loved him!!"asteria shouted and y/n stopped.

"Why did you tell me?!God I-I-was coming between you both and you fucking let me without telling me y/n!"

Y/n removed her grip from Asteria who was looking at her sister with teary eyes.

"Why did you not say anything?Why did you not say that you loved him y/n?"her voice grew softer when she saw her sister getting tears in her eyes

"Because I saw that you were happy and I didn't say anything"y/n said in a very low voice.

Asteria felt sad for her and walked closer to her holding her hand and taking the ring that was in her hand

Y/n didn't do anything for her eyes were blurry.Asteria took the ring and gave it to y/n.

"He needs you y/n.You're the bride of the day"Asteria smiled happily.Y/n looked up in her sisters eyes looking confused

"Come on you have to go!"Asteria said and pulled y/n from her hand,she was in a trance and didn't know what was happening and neither could she protest.

The doors opened again and the crowd turned there heads.Tommy who was talking to y/n's father both had there eyes at the door now

It was Asteria and behind her she held y/n by her hand pulling her.Y/n looked dull and confused.She looked up at Tommy feeling aware of her surroundings again

But by the time that happened she was already on the step in front of Tommy,the man she loved

"What is happening?"her father asked calmly

"Father you made the wrong decision"Asteria said.Her mother came up to stand beside her father

"What are you saying love?Hes never made a bad decision"her mother said.Asteria told her father something by her eyes and he looked at y/n and Tommy staring at each other not caring for the people around

"They love each other father.She loves Tommy I don't"her father looked at them again.

"What?"

"Is this true y/n?"her father asked.Y/n without pulling her eyes away softly shook her head

"It's true"

"I love him"

"I love her"
