84.The new decorator

She was busy trying up decorations in the whole house.Y/n was best in the game,she was told my her assistant that her team was hired to decorate a large mansion up outside the country,a huge gala to be hosted there showing the swan lake ballet performance

"A little to the left!"y/n clicked her fingers pointing at the wall.

"Here?"the young man asked moving the flowers a little left to the chandelier.

"No.More"she said walking back a little trying to see how the chandelier looked.

"Miss are these the cards you asked for?"Amelia,a middle aged woman who worked for her came to her showing her cards

"Yes they're very good.I think we can add something here depends on what the host likes"

"Oh it's very hard to find what Mr Shelby likes"she said sighing.Y/n furrowed her eyebrows

"I'm not aware of that I haven't met him since"she shrugged

"That's odd.You should've since you're organising his event"Amelia said.Y/n just shrugged and sighed

"Well I was trying to but his assistant kept informing me that he was busy with some business he had"she said

"That explains why he's got such a big house"Amelia said.Y/n smiled removing her eyes from the card to the house

"Yes it's big...but I'll make sure it looks beautiful under that wallpaper"she said

"Hmm i couldn't change that since i bought this house after it was made"a deep throaty voice said behind her.Y/n almost gasped when she snapped her head and saw a tall man behind her

His hands behind his back,holding his hat in them,while he looked into her soul with his icy blue eyes,that almost sent a chill down her spine

"Mr Shelby...uh good evening"Amelia said with wide eyes.Tommy gave a nod to her but never removed his eyes from the amber eyed woman in front of her

Y/n looked at Amelia when she said this was Thomas Shelby

"I see the house is almost done"he said nonchalantly looking around the house.Y/n was out of words for a minute

"Yes we're getting it done quickly.Y/n l/n by the way"she said bringing her hand forward

"Thomas Shelby"he said in a dull way shaking back his hand but only once with her.

"As much as I'm enjoying this introduction I have to get to work Mr Shelby"she said looking away from him at the workers around her

"That is why I'm paying you"he said putting his hands inside his pockets.She nodded her head at him and left.

She could feel his stare behind her.Even if he was observing her,it still was very odd for her.Tommy ignoring everything went straight to his study,to do his work

He had been there for two hours or more,well at least that's what he thought.He was actually there for 5 hours.And the sun had set now.

The clock dinged,7:30 pm.

Y/n had tied her hair up with a stick.She had been working there endlessly and was currently inside his dining room

"The bouquet should be here,here and here"she moved around the table pointing to where they should be kept.Workers putting the centrepieces wherever she was telling

"The plates need to be cleaned and forks and knives wrapped in white napkin alright Amelia?"she said.

"Yes ma'am.The cards are done"Amelia said and she took them in her hand

"Im going to take some air"she sighed walking out of the room to the lobby.She walked through the lobby reading through the card to make sure of any errors

Suddenly she bumped into someone almost making her fall back on her heel,when rough yet sturdy hands grabbed ahold of her

"Dear lord watch where you're goi-"she stopped when she looked up to see him.He was as shocked as her of the sudden act,but he didn't show it on his face

"I should've"he said helping her stand back again clearing his throat.

"I'm sorry Mr Shelby I was distracted"she said.Tommy looked down at her hands and saw she was holding a golden white card in her hand

"Are the invites done already?"he asked

Y/n did find it odd how dead of emotion his voice and face was.It was only for that split second when she fell,that she saw a different emotion on him

"Yes.You'll get the required amount of the cards by tomorrow Mr Shelby"she said handing him the sample.Tommy took it but felt his nerves tense up when his hands accidentally grazed hers

She felt it too.

The intimidation,the goosebumps that were running through his skin making his hair rise up.

"I'll be leaving now Mr Shelby"she cleared her throat and walked past him.Tommy regretted the decision to take a heavy sniff of the air as she walked by

He smelled her skin.It made him close his eyes like his mind took over his body and he lost all senses of who he was and that it was very unlikely of him to do something like that

She simply walked out of the manor taking in a deep loud breath that she was holding as she clutched her coat closer to her because of the winter air and she walked to her car

When she opened the door she sweared she felt someone watching her.She turned her head slowly towards the house

And she saw him standing at the door
