"Name's Akali," she stops next to my desk as I glance at her for a brief moment and then go back to fill out my personal information form.
"(Y/N)... but you already know that."
"Yep. After you are done with that little thing you can roam around the school till recess, the first years are out camping in their reformation camp so we can't really start the week without them otherwise it would screw with the curriculum."
I counter, "It sounds a lot like them being too lazy to start."
"That and two of our subject teachers are not here because they have to supervise it," then with a drawn-out sigh, "Hey Eric are you going to be a shut-in or actually introduce yourself?"
I lift my gaze to look at him, "Yeah. Sup," he drops his gaze back to the book in front of him as he continues to mind his own business.
She mutters under his breath, "What's up with you all of the sudden," then lowers her stare back to me as she rests against her desk, she looks at the rest of the class, a few people have stopped Kai'Sa from moving.
A little further there is one group with two girls sitting at their desks, alone only for a bit till a group of students step into the classroom, probably from the other class. It is like there are established groups, this is a high school after all... we just need a little bit more drama than we should be set.
I then lift myself as I see another trio pop their heads through the door, their eyes locking onto Akali and Eric. Must be their friends, digging my hands in my pockets she stops me, "I was going to offer to show you around if you'd like."
I then tilt my head, "I am easy. Either way, just want to get a quick look around the place before I start getting too caught up in conversation."
She then pushes herself off of the table, "I'll catch up with you in a moment then."
I head straight for the door, passing the three people, returning a smile as soon as they flash one to me. It has become rather reactive, turning the corner I head to the window as I glance at the inner courtyards.
Everyone is already roaming around - must be nice having to enjoy yourself the first week and get along with everyone that is new only to have them relentlessly drop all that school work onto your plate.
Chuckling at myself - maybe I was a little negative about moving on, a fresh change of pace from the past and into something a little bit better. I know Angel would have it that way but we can't just forget about them. They will catch up to us eventually.
Glancing over my shoulder as she backs through the door, "Yeah I'll be back in a bit," then spinning to face me, "Sorry had to give them some attention - I almost thought you'd go ahead anyway."
"You sound almost disappointed," pushing myself away from the wall.
She shakes her as she starts walking down the hall, "Not at all, sorry about Eric though. He is a little bit of an ass to deal with when it comes to being friends... as in he doesn't make friends and you have to go to him and force him to like you."
"Sounds like someone that wants a lot of attention," I state, watching her through the corner of my eye.
"Hmm, I don't think it is that. Probably a little bit of an introvert, but either way he will come around."
From where I was standing it does almost feel like he doesn't like me at all. Then again I don't know him and am just looking into it too deeply. Following her around as she begins to give me directions to where is what. I know where the faculty and teachers hang out. There is also courtyards split up so that you don't have to deal with the younger students if you don't want to.
We then stop in front of a door as she slides it open, "This is where the music happened. But one of the teachers that were in charge of it left two years ago so a lot of the students interested in that direction ended up sticking with professionals."
I then look around the room as I push my lips together, "A pitty."
"Yeah it kinda is, I wanted to join up and heard they were disbanding."
"You sing?" I ask as I wander around to see that there are still old instruments in their cases.
"Kinda," I then look at her as she smiles at me, "Not a lot of people here are open about music and whether or not they practice it. Tried to get a group together but couldn't find anyone interested so I gave up on that before long."
"Is this where you guilt trip and twist my arm into helping you?" I chuckle as I say jokingly.
"I mean - will it work?" she arches her brow as she folds her arms in front of her.
"Probably not," I then slide open one of the cases as I take the acoustic guitar, "I am not really that talented... I can pretty much copy songs and guitar solos but when it comes to creativity I fall flat on my face."
She then walks over eyes on the guitar, "Just a little practice, and then you'd be fine, considering we have time to waste, mind playing?"
I chuckle as I shake my head, "Nah. Another time maybe, these things are old and I am scared the strings might snap... and my nails ain't long enough to do it without a pick," putting it back in the case she sighs.
"Pitty," then asking, "Well if you are ever interested in reviving this skeleton of a room please come to me first."
Twisting my lips to the side, "If you really want to do it - why wait on me? You barely know me, who said this is my focus?" I ask her as she nods slowly.
"Fair enough," she then chuckles, "Welp. Sorry for dragging you in here," I shake my head to gesture that it is fine, I follow her back out of the door as I spot a familiar face.
"Hey, Kai'Sa," I greet her as she looks at both of us.
She lifts her hand, "Heya."
Akali lights up, "Pleased to meet you," she steps forward, "My name is Akali."
"The pleasure is mine," she then looks at me, "You work fast with making friends, here I thought you said you preferred being friends with people only because it makes it easier, it kinda looks like you are going out of your way this time," she giggles.
I counter, "You are pretty popular already yourself."
She nods, "Some of them recognized me from a few dance competitions so it made it very easy to fit right in with them," then looks at Akali who was shooting her gaze between us with an amused stare.
Then at Kai'Sa, "I am quickly showing him around, want to join and then head back to class and join up with me and my group?"
She twists her lips to the side as she thinks, "Sure. I just quickly went to the clothing bank to ask about my clothes so I am sorted for now - what is in that room you two just came out of?"
Akali states, "Old room they used for music," she then quickly adds, "I took him there because he mentioned being into music."
If you have to say it so quickly it might just not look like that, Akali.
"Trying to twist my arm to get into it."
She then asks, "Why wouldn't you?"
"You too huh?"
Akali then nudges her elbow against mine, "I mean you did say it is one of your interests. Why not just help me start it up again and I will help you with your creativity - not to be overconfident but I kinda have to deal with that on a regular basis."
"I'll consider it," I breathe out as we continue.
Akali. Very personable, she talks to me as if we were friends a long time ago and it doesn't feel awkward in the slightest. Though I should probably think about this whole thing... might be worth considering.
