We climb into the car, Akali then smiles at me, "I forgot about something," she pulls something out from her pocket.
A trinket with a little broken chain, a guitar pick was attacked to it but you could tell it was old and the silver of the chain has gotten duller and duller over the years - it was probably not kept in a good place either.
I then look at her, "I gave it so that you could remember me."
"I did, and now I don't need to remember anymore," she flashes me a smile, "You are right here, and here I am, right beside you."
I nod, "Where I want you to be."
I start the car and drive towards our dinner reservations, Akali has a massive smile spread across her face - it reminds me of when back then it was so nice to see her smile so widely about the smallest of things.
It was adorable - but now she looks so much more mature and older. All that time away and she still is a short shit... at least she looks good. Managed to take good care of herself despite how things were going.
And she is finally back, that matters more to me than anything else.
We reach an expensive restaurant that has multiple floors, we walk up to the front as I say, "I am here to meet with Ahri."
He asks, "Name?"
Akali then quips, "I'd think he would know who you are."
I chuckle, "It is a formality, (Y/N) (L/N)."
"Welcome, sir. She is on the second floor waiting for you - who is this may I ask?"
"My guest," I state, "Do I need to pay for her?"
He shakes his head, "Feel free to step inside."
"Wow," she exclaims as we step in, "This place really looks more expensive, it's like those places where you pay for the social status of dining here and not really the food - like how you pay for the Rolex's name and not the watch."
"Going to complain?" I look at her.
She gestures to her person, "Look at me, I look like a street urchin."
"You are cute as is."
"Not cute," she counters, "But... thank you."
Then walking up to the second floor where Ahri usually sits, she then asks, "Why didn't he just let you in? Don't people know who you are?"
I chuckle, "They know - it is just formality."
"If you say so~" she sings as she looks around the place.
I see the blonde-haired fox-girl staring at me in the distance. She is wearing a plain smile that instantly gets replaced with a wide-eyed expression of shock, her droopy and relaxed ears suddenly standing at ends.
She lifts herself from the table and walks toward us.
Akali then breathes out, "She looks so good..." she leaves my side and rushes towards her.
They instantly crash into a hug with Ahri holding her close to her, I finally reach them and they are still tightly embracing each other as Ahri finally says, "Welcome home."
"I missed all of you."
She nods, then looks at me with a smile, "I... I was going to suggest we find her but you already brought her back," then with a giggle, "Oh my god, I can almost cry," she then clears her throat as she walks over to give me a quick hug, "Thanks for bringing her with you."
"Happy to build things back again."
She chuckles, "Please, sit down."
We both sit down as she is wearing a wide smile, "What happened?"
"Time to tell the story~" I chirp as Akali then nods.
She tells her in detail what happened, from how hard it was to how she managed to make it back - even till the point where I got in a little confrontation with her new friends even though they were just protecting her.
Ahri looks at me, "You just like getting on people's bad sides."
"A personal talent."
"My producers hate you."
"I hate that they got you before I could," I state.
She rolls her eyes, "Stop it - I was taken way before you even became a producer," she then looks at Akali, "And you look really good for someone that ran away from home."
Akali then gestures to her head, "How'd you dye your ears? The colour really suits you."
She furrows her brow, "Dying everything was a real pain... let's not talk about it," then with a giggle, "Here I was going to invite you to dinner, (Y/N) and see if we can get Akali back and even try that idea that Michelle had."
I then ask, "Sick of the pop star business?"
She lets her smile fade, "I... don't get to do what I want to do. My manager has been even harsher than the producers about what I can and can not do - it was hard enough to make time to meet with you."
Akali then cuffs her fists, "I can beat the fuck out of him."
Ahri stops her, "Woah, we don't need to hurt him - he is just doing his job... even if he is doing a god awful job at taking care of me, at least he knows how to manage me," she chuckles.
I then ask, "Evelynn?"
"She is the one pushing me to drop the pop and start life."
I then cross my arms, "How will the fans cope with their idol disappearing?"
"They will survive when all of us get together and make our own group," she then crosses her arms over the table, "That is... if either of you wants to take a shot at it."
I nod, "Wasn't going to say no."
Akali adds with an enthusiastic tone, "Yep! I am also looking forward to meeting everyone and seeing where we go from there."
Ahri smiles at her but she looks at me with a pained expression, almost guilty, "(Y/N)... sorry that we drifted away from you."
I stop her, "We are all still friends, if the feelings-"
"It is still there," she stops me, "Kind of hard to lose it when you are so awesome... work clashed with yours and a lot of people made sure I couldn't reach you - Evelynn couldn't even do it because people didn't want her to be near you."
I stop her, "You don't have to make excuses - I do know how business goes."
She smiles, "Good."
Akali then asks, "Can we meet this weekend?"
Ahri looks at her, "Sure."
"My place, bring Evelynn and we will make sure Kai'Sa is there."
I nudge my shoulder into her side, "Your place?"
She snorts, "You know what I mean," then looking at Ahri, "Will you?"
"We will be there. Evelynn will be ecstatic to meet everyone again."
I then lean back into my seat, "That easy, should have found you sooner Akali."
She then looks at me, "Almost like you were all waiting on me."
