009 - Way home

Stretching my arms behind my back, I walk towards the gate as I hear my phone buzz in my pocket. Looks like they are just in time with their timing.

"Hey, Angel," I then hover near the gate, stopping just a few steps away from it, "What's up?"

"Want Matty to come to pick you up? I am just about finishing up with unpacking and moving some extra furniture in."

"Aren't you being a little too active?"

"I finished with my things a bit earlier today," then with a giggle, "Anyway he is on his way to pick up dinner so-"

"I am fine. I know the way home and want to take a few detours just to see the city and check out some hot spots."

She then asks, "Made some friends already?"

"Yes but that doesn't have anything to do with it. I was serious about wanting to see what is what."

"Alright~" she sings over the call, "Well just don't stay out too late, you hear? I know how much I enjoyed staying out late but you need to make sure you still follow curfew to an extent."

"Yes, see you later, Angel."

"See ya!"

Then pushing myself away from the wall I spot Akali looking at me with pursed lips and her hands in her jacket's pockets, "Girlfriend?"

"God no. My sister, her name is Angel."

"Ahhh. Makes a lot more sense," she then asks, "Which way are you walking?" I pick a random direction pointing to it, "That way."

"Cool we can hang out till we break apart," she then starts walking, "Where is Kai'Sa? Almost expected her to be next to you."

"Do we seem that close?"

"Kinda?"

"Her dad picked her up just a little while before. She looked super excited to see him so I didn't bother stopping her," then walked with Akali down the street, "Where are your friends?"

"Making plans for sports," she states, "They haven't finished with plans so they are doing that now along with starting practice. Usually, they'd be walking home with me."

"Cooling down?"

"Hopefully," she nods then sighs, "Sorry about them. They don't think anything bad of you, Eric is in a bad mood since this morning. He is mostly pissed because his best bud isn't in the same class."

"And they hate those two."

"It is a very long story..."

Then hearing something jog to us, "You just decided to forget about me?" Conner then takes a deep breath as he catches up.

"That is the first time I have seen you run," then saying, "Sorry I thought you'd stick around with them for a bit."

"Nah. Aint for me," he then sides next to her, rather close.

Are these two like a thing? I didn't think they were at first but maybe it is because he is trying to assert his dominance and hoping that it gives me enough clear signals to stay away from Akali... or I am just paranoid and think a little bit too much of myself.

He locks eyes with me, "Sorry about this morning - wished it didn't end up turning into a confrontation."

"It happens I guess," I state.

He chuckles, "So? Enjoy yourself? Kinda funny because they were saving your seat for me and then I realized we weren't in the same class at all."

"Must suck. It is only the first day so I can't really say if it is all that good."
