Leaning against the wall I am watching her take her sweet time talking to them, they all finally walk away with her but it just looks like they are good friends. Or at least I don't know what relationship status she has currently.
Then she jogs over to me, "You really have a knack for never getting along with any of my friends," she then stops short of me, "Uhm. Sorry. Hey, (Y/N)," she looks almost guilty, "I am so happy to see you."
I return the smile, "Hey Akali."
She lifts both of her hands to awkwardly wave, "It has been four years now, sorry I took my time to come back but... I am back now."
"Been in town for a bit?"
She nods, "For a week or so now, just been hard getting settled and I didn't want to just come up to your place with my bags," then with a weak smile, "How are the others?"
"Kai'Sa is overseas, Ahri and Evelynn... those two are busy doing their own thing for the time being - I haven't had the chance to talk to them as much," I lift my shoulders, "It was... it kinda melted away over the years."
She then steps forward hugging me, "I don't know how much it helps or how much it means to you - but I really really was looking forward to finally coming back. I-"
I wrap my arms around her shoulders which silences her instantly, hugging me tighter as if this is something both of us were waiting for. We stand in place for a moment before she clears her throat and breaks away.
"Do you... have any plans for the rest of the night?"
I shake my head, "Would you believe me if I told you that I came here specifically to find you?"
She giggles, "I guess you lucked out, I was about to leave with the guys and then probably hang out with them before I turn in for the night," then smiling up at me, "You always had a knack for arriving at the perfect time."
"At least there are a few things I can still do," then pursing my lips I let my smile fade for a moment before asking, "You are here to stay, right?"
She nods, "This is where home is after all," then with a chuckle, "I just had to make sure they would never find me, and they didn't," then asks me, "Want to come over? Unless you are parked pretty far?"
I then suggest, "I could just fetch the car, it is up the street."
She then stops me, "Well... it is kinda cold and I don't want to be dragged into anything."
I slide my coat off my shoulders and hand it over to her, she only giggles, "Anything to make it work," she then asks me, "Aren't you going to be freezing? I am the one that likes the cold."
"Then why are you complaining?"
She nods, "Sorry. Come on, let's get your car."
She doesn't walk exactly close to me, but it has been four years and I don't know if there is someone else and that I shouldn't be sticking my nose in things that aren't really mine to stick into anymore.
She notices my stare, "You are being very quiet."
"Just still shocked that I managed to find you, is all."
"I am happy that you did," she then smiles widely, "Didn't you say that once? That when I run you will come to find me? Or was it that when I come back that you will be there for me? I would have come sooner but... I didn't know if I should have."
"We never know, time passes quickly and things change even quicker."
I unlock the car, she jumps into the passenger side as I get behind the wheel, "Where to?"
