Hovering around the two of them playing pool, I can hear music playing from the TV upstairs, I had to close all of the openings to make sure that most of the sound doesn't echo through the neighbourhood and someone ends up calling the police to ruin the happy hour.
Standing with my drink in hand, "Ahri, you aren't really putting up much of a fight."
She then pouts at me, "Listen. It is kind of hard to play against someone that loves playing pool and always ends up playing it no matter where she disappears against someone like me, who only plays to have fun."
"This is fun."
"Losing is fun, totally," Ahri rolls her eyes.
Eve only chuckles as she gestures for her to take her to turn, "You get the hang of it eventually," she then sides next to me as Ahri takes her turn, "How about the two of you take a shot at it - then I get to suavely side in next to either of you and show how it is done."
I then ask, "Isn't that just a way to play against yourself?"
"And the two of you are my controllers."
Ahri then leans over to take her shot, "At least someone is enjoying themselves."
"Are you not?"
Ahri then looks up at her and then back at the table, "I don't know why you want to play against me when I just know you are always going to beat me?"
"It's just one of those things," Eve lifts her shoulders, "Maybe we should play for stakes, but it wouldn't be fair if I got in on that seeing that I am going to floor the two of you."
I then scoff, "Please. I am a natural."
"I sincerely doubt that," she pats my shoulder, then takes Ahri's place, "You two can start deciding on what you two are playing for and I just watch you two enjoy yourselves."
Ahri leans against me, "This woman is just oozing confidence."
"Isn't that just Evelynn?"
"In her own way," she sinks the black ball and then starts retrieving the rest and putting them back, "Just wait till she does something she doesn't know how to do then it is just fake it till she makes it."
"I always make it."
Ahri shakes her head, "She doesn't," then looks at me, "Seeing there aren't many prizes, how about playing a game for Eve?"
"Huh?" she looks at the two of us.
With a smile, "Promise not to get jealous?"
"I won't if you won't."
She then waves at us, "Guys. The key thing missing in making this happen is my consent, and I don't consent."
Ahri then ignores her, "So it is settled?"
"Really? Just going to ignore me?"
"Stop complaining, you like the idea," Ahri then steps forward to break.
Evelynn then grabs a seat and sits down, "I am not going to be the cheerleader, at that point it just looks like I want one of you to win," Evelynn then also looks at me, "If you lose I will forever remind you that a girl beat you in pool."
I then look at Ahri who is holding a smug expression, "It's nothing personal."
She rolls her eyes with a giggle, "Just take the shot already."
I take the easiest shot, "Stripes. Sorry Ahri but there is a lot on the line here," then in the blunder of being overconfident from one good shot, the next one falls short of the next hole.
She then goes on to take her next shot, "Taking easy shots huh?"
"Kinda have to," I state, "I don't play pool, and don't really have a chance to practise it nearly as much as you two."
"I don't practise it at all!" she then looks at Eve, "He is bullying me."
"I am not the Umpire," Evelynn snorts, "Besides you are so easy to bully I kinda want to start doing it myself."
"I hate both of you," she then sinks the one ball, tip taps to the next ball and sinks it only to miss the other right after it, "At least I know I can win against you."
"But will you?" a lot of my balls are blocked, I just shoot knowing that I am going to have to make space to shoot the rest.
It goes back and forward, she misses a shot and I hit a shot, only for me to miss a couple of times and she just as much - safe to say that both of us are equally as bad, Evelynn on the other hand is highly amused that it is taking us this long to close this game.
I sink my last striped ball and aim for the black ball, taking my shot it knocks her ball into the pocket.
"Shit..."
Ahri snorts, "Thanks for the two shots."
"Is that even in the rules?"
Evelynn then adds, "I'll allow it."
"See?"
"What?" I look at Evelynn, "How is this fair? I need a detailed explanation of the rules right now. Girls this is clearly biased against me," I let out a sigh as I shake my head as Ahri takes probably the easiest shot of her life and sinks the ball with ease.
Ahri then gives me a smug expression, "Just better."
"Uh-huh," she then puts down the pool cue and hops over next to Evelynn who is watching her through the corner of her eye, "But seeing as I won."
"Probably the best prize I can possibly think of," she then looks at Ahri, "Now that brings the question of what you are going to do with me now that you have me? I refuse to do anything that requires me to do any hard work."
Ahri rests her hand on her thigh, and the other against the side of her chest, "A lot of things we should save for later tonight," her head is next to her, and Evelynn follows Ahri's head as if she is searching for her lips.
For a moment it looks like they were going to make out but stops just moments later. Evelynn then flashes her a grin before shaking her head at her, "You are silly for no reason," then looking at me, "Kinda wish you won now."
Ahri then giggles, "I just don't think there is a reason to waste my prize right now."
"Night is still young," I state.
Ahri then looks at me, "Were you just going to stand and watch?"
"I have a feeling I won't be stopped if I tried to join."
"You might have to learn the hard way," Evelynn states, then climbs out of her chair, "I need something to drink - one of you needs to figure out how we are going to do dinner tonight."
I chuckle as I then ask her, "Hungry or horny?"
She arches her brow at me as she just walks around the corner and up the stairs.
