♥︎Chapter four:
Bonnie and Clyde

He had only let go of her arm when they approached a tall building along the side of one of the busier streets. It was strange, that she probably would never have noticed it until now, as they neared the structure. She would have never noticed the tiny odd details, like the umbrellas that only now stood out to her on the glass panes of the wooden double doors.

It was a small detail, but one that she thought made the property look a lot more professional than the other plain buildings surrounding it. Which was why she was extremely confused as to why that was where they were going. It didn't look like a workplace, in fact, it looked like a house, even if the exterior was overly extravagant.

Were they about to break into some millionaire's house? She wouldn't put it past this strange boy to be accustomed to breaking and entering due to his behaviour back at the lab, but she wasn't going to get locked up for another one of his absolutely brain dead plans.

When the boy stepped forward to push open the small iron gate that opened onto the few concrete steps leading up to the intricately designed doors, Angelina looked at him in question. "Hey, what are you doing?" She questioned, pausing his movements, his hand resting on the half open gate as he looked at her with his own look. It was a mixture between confusion and weariness from her endless questions, but in her opinion, she wouldn't have so many questions, if he just answered them.

"Going inside. Am I not allowed to enter my house?" He sneered sardonically, as though anyone with common sense would know the answer. It seemed to also be a rhetorical question as he didn't wait for a reply, unless he just didn't care for one, as he opened the gate fully and walked up the steps to the tall doors. Angelina followed behind him, her puzzled state only growing, except this time it was mainly due to her scepticism.

"This is your house?" She asked, not fully sure whether or not she should believe his claim. The building was a lot swankier, and lavish looking than she would have imagined his home to be, but it also somewhat matched his stuck-up, conceited, haughty personality in a way, so she didn't rule out the possibility immediately.

She was only dazzled more by the glamorous home when she followed him inside into an enormous entry hall, decorated with all sorts of glamorous trinkets from all over that she assumed cost more than her left kidney, but even all the décor couldn't make up for the cold and empty atmosphere of the house. That fact only seemed to sway her to believe that this was in fact the residence of Five Hargreeves.

Even so, the pair of brown eyes travelled across the room, soaking in every detail of the beautiful home and she just couldn't grasp how such a sour boy could live in this house and still be so grouchy.

"Welcome to my humble home," Five announced dryly, glancing around the room with a bored expression as he walked towards a large, ornate, almost ostentatious wooden staircase. When he realized the girl wasn't following behind him anymore, he turned around and rolled his eyes as he scoffed at the sight.
