♥︎Chapter Thirty:
The End is Near

☕︎"What the hell! Why did you do that!" Angelina yelled over the deafening sound of violin music and blaring sound waves rippling across the gigantic theater, her fury directed to the boy who had just transported them there with his abilities.

They couldn't have shown up at a worse time.

Vanya was on stage, showcasing her own abilities as she played her violin beautifully, completely in her own world as everyone who had been in the audience rushed out of the doors at the sight of the glowing woman. Literally glowing. Her eyes were white, along with her skin that was almost too bright to look at directly.

Whatever abilities she had, they were clearly powerful as shit. It was no wonder she was the cause of the apocalypse. Though, she hadn't destroyed the world and its population yet, as everyone and everything was still standing, alive and somewhat well. They still had time.

Yet Angena wasn't thinking about that. She was thinking about how her opportunity to finally get revenge had been taken from her by the boy hiding beside her as they crouched behind a row of seats in hopes of not being killed.

"It was a trick! Don't you understand that? She knew that if we showed up, we'd both be too distracted to stop Vanya," he hissed in return, quickly peering around his shoulder at the mess that had become of the world in the few minutes they had been gone.

Angelina looked at him incredulously, her anger overpowering her judgment. "I don't care! Take me back!"

"Trust me, that's what she wants!" he seethed back to her.

She didn't care if she was being rash, because those words sparked something she didn't even realize she had been penting up for as long as she knew him.

"How am I supposed to trust you when you've been lying to me for who knows how long? No lies my ass!" Her words were sharp and unlike anything Five had ever heard come from her mouth. It was foreign, and he didn't like it. He had never seen her really upset, or really pissed off, but today must have been the day that would change. "You knew what she did to me, and you decided to just keep it to yourself!

He rolled his eyes. "Hey, I'm not the only one who hasn't been telling the full truth. You seemed to have everything all cleared up back there. When were you going to tell me?"

He too felt like he had been cheated. For the last almost two days, he had known about this earth shattering secret that he had withheld for her own good! He was annoyed she didn't see it that way, and he was annoyed that it turned out the unwelcome feelings that he had earned from keeping a secret so big from her was all for nothing. She had already known, and kept it to herself. Who knew when, or even if she would have told him.
