Happy Tuesday everyone! Today I'm picking up from the cliffhanger I left you all on last week. There's a small timeskip between this chapter and the last one, but nothing important happened in it (as Aryia and Y/N didn't speak to each other after the kiss in the car), so I left that part out of the story (since they were just silently coming home and packing up groceries before sitting down opposite each other in the living room). I have a few weeks off from university, so I'll hopefully be writing a lot more chapters to upload here in the coming weeks and I hope you're all enjoying my new book so far :)! As always, a huge thank you and shoutout to my bestie evelync1313 for co-writing this book with me and being my beta reader, I really love working on this series with her ☺!! I hope you guys like this week's chapter 😁

Summary: After their kiss in the car, Evra thinks about what she truly means to Aryia and considers telling him about feelings towards him.

I didn't know what to say.

Hell, I didn't even know what to think or do.

Despite my growing feelings for him, I'd never actually considered the idea or the possibility of Aryia kissing me. I was definitely surprised, and part of me had wanted to stop or push him away but I soon realized that this was something I had wanted since I realized that we were more than just really close friends.

Maybe that was why I was sitting so bewilderedly on the couch.

Neither of us had spoken since we had brought all of the groceries inside to pack them away. The silence was bugging me, it wasn't comfortable like the one we had experienced when Aryia had pulled into the driveway. It was... tense.

It made me think back to everything that had happened that night. The dinner at In 'n Out, the ice cream, rushing around Ralph's to get our last-minute groceries before the store closed, the laughter during the car ride home, the silence that followed and...

The kiss.

'Maybe he meant what he said last night...' I thought, peeking over at him on the opposite couch as he played on his phone. 'Does he really reel that way about me?'

He was typing.

'Is he texting someone? Kévin maybe? Or is he trying to distract himself?'

I focused on him more, my heart still racing the same way it had two years ago. Despite not looking directly at me, he still had my attention. 23 and tall with a face carved by angels, coffee brown hair with one side dyed a light blond, skin covered in tattoos with the sweetest soul and kindest personality, and the most gorgeous autumn-green eyes I had ever seen. By looks, he may not have been my type two years ago but physical features didn't mean everything. What was inside was what mattered to me, and this man had the purest most golden heart I had ever seen. And while he may have been imperfect to many, he was perfect to me but perfect to me.

As I continued to look at him, I thought about what he could be thinking. 'Does he regret kissing me? Why wasn't he talking? Have I made things awkward? Is he embarrassed?'

I had a feeling he could feel my gaze on him as he averted his gaze to mine, we both blushed as he caught me before looking away and resuming what we had been doing; him looking at his phone and me trying to focus on the TV as opposed to what happened on our journey home.

The surprise had been sweet, my heart smiling and melting as if this was the one thing it had always craved when I felt the gentle touch of his kiss on my lips.
