Hey guys, Rhyme 43 is here!
I'm still on vacation (with just a day more to go until I come home) but it's not stopping me from writing, since finished my final chapter today and I'm halfway through finishing the epilogue! This said, I'm thinking of posting a couple of times this weekend to wrap up the book with 2023 before I start on Rhymes and Rhythms 2 and finalize all of the book with the actual character's name I'm using and revise the first part of the plot (since I figured it doesn't really fit ^^")
With all of this said, I hope you enjoy the new chappy :3

I sat in my mom's car on the way home while my dad drove us through LA, anxiously awaiting being in Aryia's arms again. The car ride had lasted for six hours; courtesy of the traffic 45 minutes before arriving in Los Angeles, but truthfully it had felt longer. An hour into our way back to LA I felt sick from both the motion of the car and missing Aryia. Following my last appointment with her, Doctor Gray had advised me against long-distance travel after Aryia and I had been on our nationwide tour and I was starting to see why. Granted, Fresno was six hours away from LA, but even that didn't stop me from feeling so nauseous.
I breathed a sigh of relief as my dad pulled into the driveway and followed him and my mom to the door where they rang the doorbell. I knew that Aryia was the only one at home since he had been texting me non-stop since we left my hometown.
We waited a few minutes before the door opened and he greeted us all, pulling me into a hug before I could say it back.
"Hi." I laughed, my parents following me to the porch.
"I missed you so much." He whispered softly, making me blush.
"Awwh, I missed you too." I smiled, reluctantly pulling apart from Aryia as he hospitably welcomed my parents into the house, hugging my mom and receiving an awkward nod from my dad as I led them to the lounge.
"Can I get you guys anything to drink? Tea? Coffee? Juice?"
"No thank you." My dad declined with a surprising amount of politeness considering how he claimed he wasn't getting along with Aryia.
"I'm okay thank you Aryia. But if you're boiling the kettle then I'll have a cup of tea."
"In other words, that's a yes." I smiled. "I'll get it."
"No babe, you sit down and I'll make it."
"No, no, it's all good. Just sit there and talk and I'll make it."
He sighed. "Okay fine."
"Ginger tea?"
"You know me too well." He said, kissing me as I stood up from the couch.
"Sure you don't want anything dad?"
"Well if everyone else is having a drink, I suppose I'll have a coffee."
'Figures.' I thought.
...
After making the drinks, I put them all together on a tray and carried them into the living room, handing everyone their cups and setting the empty platter next to me on the floor as I sat down next to Aryia and opposite my mom and dad.
It was quiet for a few minutes as we all had a sip of our refreshments. I knew my dad wanted to discuss things with Aryia which was why he offered to drive me back to LA – giving me the excuse that it was safer than a flight – but I hoped that he wouldn't speak too directly to him that it ended up sounding like an interrogation. But I also knew that like me, once he set his mind on something it was almost impossible to change it.
