Hi guys and Happy Monday!

I had a small issue writing this chapter - and by small I mean "Google docs deleted my entire story, including other chapters I had written before and after this one" but I would like to give a special thanks to version history as without that I wouldn't have been able to write the book ^^" So let this be a lesson to everyone! Make sure your stuff is backed up elsewhere when you're writing ^^" :p!

Updates might not be coming as regularly after next week as I'm gonna be really swamped withe work and uni but I will update you all closer to the time of any changes :3

I hope you all enjoy the new chapter :)

Summary: Aryia takes Evra on a small vacation for their anniversary where they share a log cabin together.

"At the end of the road, turn left." The Australian voice of Aryia's SatNav said from the dashboard of his car.

He smiled at me as he drove to the end of the road and followed the instructions of the navigation device.

It was still only a couple of days after New Year's and the two of us were currently on our way up to the lodge that Aryia had booked for our anniversary. He had surprised me with the gift for our anniversary on Christmas Day evening last week and I'd been so excited to go on another adventure with him; this time to Big Bear.

Since it was still very early January – and thus still very early in the year – it was still pretty cold in California, and since we were taking a trip outside of LA, I knew exactly what that meant. Snow! We first noticed it after passing through San Bernardino and the patches of white only continued to grow as Aryia drove us further up into the mountains.

The drive had been two hours long – with an extra half an hour on top of that sitting in congested LA traffic – but as soon as we reached the mountains, I was in awe of the beautiful scenery. Big Bear was of course known for its snowy mountains in the winter where visitors and residents could go skiing and snowboarding, but as California's oldest Ski Resort it came to no surprise to either of us that there was so much snow. Despite all of the ski activities, neither of us were here for that. We were just here to enjoy and relish in each other's company while enjoying celebrating our year-long relationship together.

After getting the keys from a staff member on site, I rested my head on Aryia's shoulder as he drove up to the cabin where we would be staying. The cabin was a cozy two bedroom lodge with a fireplace in the spacious front room filled with blankets and firewood, giving it that fresh natural pine scent that made it clearer than ever that we were in the mountains. There was also a deck outside with some stairs leading up to it which we would use on our way in and out of the cabin, a kitchen-dining room leading to the main living room, and a bath and shower in the en-suite of the main bedroom. As we entered the chalet, I realized how ideal this would be for anyone, from couples, to families, to anyone who was looking for time to have time away from society and just relax.

We had both been a little bummed out however when the lady who had given us our keys at the front desk had asked if we had a dog with us as pets were allowed on site, meaning that we lost out on the chance to bring Ronnie and Rémy with us on vacation, though the main point of this trip was to relax and spend time together as a couple – as opposed to a pair of pet parents – so it wasn't too bad. Besides, it was a little late to go back to LA and fetch them now when we had just driven upstate – and another 6 hours of driving would be a waste of the day – so instead, we decided to go up to the lodge, check it out and relish in some quality time together.
