Happy Monday everyone!
I went back to uni today but it's not changing the fact that I'm uploading weekly and continuing to write! We're definitely gonna have the rest of Rhythms book 1 posted by the end of the year!!
The photo I used as the chapter image isn't of Aryia, but I was looking for photos of a barbeque (since I included one in the chapter) and this one just FIT cuz it looks like it would be Aryia eating bbq. The dog in the picture is also what I imagine the reader's dad's dog (Cheddar or Ched) looking like, so in short, this photo was PERFECT :3
I hope you guys enjoy the new chapter :D
Summary: After over a year of planning, Aryia and Evra finally take each other to meet their families
Chapter song: Bad Boy - Aryia

When Aryia had recovered from his jet lag from going to Florida and Boston, the two of us went on a dinner date to celebrate the milestones we made on our songs. We decided to keep the date lowkey, so instead of blowing all of our cash at once, we went to Saddle Ranch for dinner. This also meant that neither of us would have to pick out anything too fancy to wear for dinner and that we could dress as casually as we wanted. Aryia had sported black pants, a white wife beater and his denim jacket white I wore black pleather pants and a white blouse with long sleeves and a black bow.
We held hands for the entire night – except when we cut our food – before discussing the plans we had for going to each other's hometowns. Aryia planned on taking me to see his family for two days; the trip consisting of showing me around Orange County on the first day and going to the beach for the second. I already knew a bit of OC since we often took Ronnie on walks to Huntington Beach, but I was also really excited to meet his family and get to know them a little better as well.
I had also planned a two day trip to Fresno, the first day after we arrived being spent at the zoo and the second hanging out around town before sharing one of my dad's famous barbecues with my family. It wasn't really an original idea but I didn't think there was much to do in my hometown. In fact, one of the main reasons why I moved to LA was to get out, explore and have more fun in my life as opposed to staying in a sleepy town. The last time I spoke with my mom, she had mentioned how Nick wanted to move up to Big Bear to stay true to his habit of taking part in adrenaline-inducing activities so I would be sure to query and confirm this with him if we saw him on the trip.
The two of us had already confirmed the dates for us to go and see our families and had decided to head east to OC first. Not just because it was nearer, but also because Aryia's family was going on vacation soon and had a lot they needed to sort out. So two days after contacting them, I found myself outside the house Aryia had grown up in during his later teen years.
His mom seemed to really like me when the two of us met and I had spent the evening with Aryia and the rest of his family as almost too conveniently, his siblings were also in town and came over to meet me as well.
I had previously spoken with his parents over the phone – mostly Aryia's mom who was so hospitable and sweet when we visited, though I had also spoken to his dad as well; who had sounded exactly the same way Aryia had said when he impersonated him on The Purpose in the Youth podcast a few years go. I had drank the tea his mom had made for me and talked with her and Aryia's older sister for the majority of the afternoon while Aryia talked to his dad and brothers in the kitchen before coming back into the living room to join our conversation.
Ironically enough, the three of us were actually talking about him when he entered the room with his mom gushing over old photos. I had seen one of the baby photos she pointed out to me when he had done his Q and A on Instagram when he was in Florida and mentioned how he looked so different but also mentioned how the little shocked expression on his face reminded me of Rémy which made his sister laugh as she and Aryia's mom both agreed with me a little before all mentioning that he looked extremely cute.
