Hey everyone!

Chapter 42 is being posted (as you can see) and I'm currently working on chapter 48, so it won't be long until Rhymes and Rhythms 1 is finished :3 This chapter has a lot of angst regarding the main character's dad and also features and argument, but it was really fun to write it as it made for a nice change of pace. So with that said, I hope you enjoy this chapter as much as I did writing it :)

Summary: Aryia and Evra tell their families that they're expecting their baby; while the news goes well with some, it hits others a lot differently. This chapter also features the baby's gender reveal :)

"Hi~" I greeted my parents as they entered our new house in Van Nuys.

After all of the tour shenanigans from the past month, filming music videos and settling into the new house with Kévin and Eileen, Aryia and I were finally ready to tell our families about my pregnancy over dinner. My parents had been the first to arrive and Aryia's family had come over roughly twenty minutes later.

I was unsure about how to break the news at first, however after talking to Nick and Aryia at the motel a little over a month ago during our tour, I came up with the idea to invite everyone over to the new house for dinner with our roommates, play a few games and announce the baby. Nick, Maxwell and Avery were unfortunately unable to make the get-together as my older brother was on vacation with his wife and daughter, Maxwell was on a trip for a university interview and Avery was staying at a friend's house for the weekend slumber party. So while all of Aryia's immediate family were there for the announcement, it would just be my mom and dad representing my immediate family, meaning that I would have to tell my siblings about the baby later or may mom and dad would tell them for me.

I was nervous about people reacting in a negative way though I was growing especially more anxious about how my dad might react to hearing the news since he wasn't too happy with the idea of sex before marriage. But with the support of my friends and Aryia, I had high hopes that everything would work out for the best in the end.

"I didn't realize that we were waiting for more people." My dad said as we had welcomed Aryia's family into the house.

"I literally said that Aryia's parents are coming around with his siblings." I reminded him.

"Oh right!" He remembered. "So is this a family get-together or something?"

"Well yeah, we figured that you guys had never really been formally introduced to each other, so we figured: "Hey! Why not invite everyone over for dinner?" Right, Ary?" I asked, turning to my boyfriend.

"Right." He smiled in agreement. "Guys, these are Evra's parents David and Zara Meadows." He said, introducing his family to my parents.

"And mom and dad, these are Aryia's parents and siblings."

"Nice to meet you." Our moms smiled at each other as our dads shook hands and Aryia's siblings introduced themselves to my parents as well.

"Hey guys." Kévin called from the front door, having just returned from walking the dogs with Eileen.

"Perfect timing! Mom, dad, you guys remember Kévin, right?"

"Oh, hello." They greeted him and Eileen as they took their shoes off by the door and let Ronnie and Zeke off their leashes.

Ronnie immediately came up to Aryia's mom, standing up on his hind legs and balancing against her as she petted him on the head.

"Hi Ronnie." Aryia's sister smiled, causing him to jump against her which made their parents laugh.
