Happy Monday y'all

Not sure if y'all saw the post I made yesterday, but I'm almost done with all my chapters (just 7 left to finish) so pretty soon I'll be updating twice to three times a week (so long as uni doesn't disrupt my upload schedule).

One of my plans this year was to finish this book and I'm kinda bittersweet about finishing it, but the series is far from over since I have at least 3 more books planned for it 👀. I also have a couple of other Aryia books in mind, so let me know which you want to see first or if you want me to upload each book once a week like I have with Sweet Rhymes.

I hope you guys enjoy this week's chapter :3

Summary: After Aryia takes Evra dress shopping, they attend Nick and Mariah's wedding

Chapter song: Starships - Nicki Minaj

"Your suit for the wedding is all black, right Ary?" I asked my boyfriend while looking for clothes.

"Yeah it is."

"That makes it a little easier to find an outfit then, everything goes with black, right?"

"That's what they say." He shrugged.

It was currently the end of September and only a couple of days after we had come back from Fresno. Nick and Mariah's wedding was taking place in just over a week and I still hadn't sorted out an outfit for it. I was beginning to grasp at straws because of how quick time was running out and how much I wanted to wear something stylish but complimentary to Aryia's outfit which consisted of an all-black suit with a black tie and black shoes.

I wasn't thrilled at the thought of attending Nick and Mariah's wedding in a dress or outfit that I'd owned for the last five-plus years and had wanted to buy something new for a while, so Aryia had agreed to accompany me to multiple clothing stores in LA until I found an outfit. We'd gone to H&M, Urban Outfitters, Bodega, Forever 21 and a bunch of other boutiques but there was quite literally nothing.

"How about we go back to the mall and see if they have anything there? Or you could order something online."

"I looked online but all the stuff I like is either out of stock or they don't have my size." I sighed. "I'm starting to think I won't be able to go."

"Hey," Aryia said, putting his hands on my shoulders and turning to me as I stopped flicking through clothes hangers on the rail. "You're coming with me. I don't care what you wear, you'll look amazing in anything. And if we can't find anything, I'll ask the cashier if there's anything she can recommend."

I blushed at the compliment he gave me, smiling at the offer before giving him a tight squeeze around the waist. "Thanks Ary, you're the best!"

It was his turn to blush at the compliment before thanking me and telling me he would go and look on the other side of the women's section for something for me to wear. After a few minutes, he returned with three dresses for me to look at. They were all black so that I could match his suit but all had different styles. The first one was a multi-layered dress with fabrics laid half over each other and formed a cross section across the chest with a small area which left no coverage at the bottom of my sternum. It was pretty cute but it also went down to my ankles and I felt as if I should be advised to wear it with a trip hazard warning – especially considering that I would be wearing heels on the wedding day and would more-than-likely slip or do a Ruby Roundhouse as soon as my feet touched the ground, nevermind the dance floor. The next dress was a simple black one which puffed out slightly on the skirt but it wasn't too long and I liked it quite a lot, so asked Aryia to hold onto it until I went to try it on. But the last dress he had picked up was my favorite. It was a black cocktail-style dress with a lace top and flowing asymmetrical skirt that was just the right length.
