In zombie mode I guess.
***Joseph***
To be perfectly honest, it is quite annoying letting Madison call me genius...because I'm not. But somehow, it feels strangely...nice.
That's as close as to how I can describe how I feel about it.
"Come on genius, hurry up! Food's waiting for us and I'm starving!" Madison exclaimed with great urgency as she grabbed my hand and dragged me to the cafeteria.
I smiled and laughed inside.
As much as I hate going for lunch or anywhere public at all, it's nice to know that at least I'm with someone now...that I can interact with...that I can talk to.
We walked hastily towards the cafeteria and found an empty table.
After taking a seat and making myself comfortable, I took a long look at myself and thought of all the days I skipped lunch and break....I sure lost a lot of weight....and it's all because of that discovery.
I don't even want to look at anyone or anything.
Shaking my head, I decided I was not going to even go further into my eyes and such and just...be normal and natural...for the sake of Madison.
I glanced at Madison from the corner of my eye, rather awkwardly might I add.
Her hair was sleeked back into a braid, kind of like Elsa's one from Frozen, yes. I watch that. And she was wearing a big old sweater, and it said: "Moustaches rule!". She was wearing skinny jeans and boots.
Now I'm just wondering how she can handle the hotness that is literally everywhere in the air right now, burning and toasting us to fresh toast bread. I'll never know.
I don't even know anymore.
I'm kinda just following everyone and not really caring anything now. It's a known fact, blindness. I'll lose my eyesight...I won't be able to see anything. I don't know why I was bothered by it before.
In zombie mode I guess.
Suddenly a hand appeared in front of my face, waving and wiggling.
"Genius! I'm talking to you! What do you want? It's on the house today. Meaning it's my treat." Madison folded her arms and hit my head lightly, my head moved slightly forward.
"Hey!" I responded, rather rudely might I add, "I mean, I don't want anything. Go help yourself." I recovered smoothly and forced a smile.
Madison just nodded and flashed a tight smile.
Judging by the way she looked at me before heading off, I could see hints of sympathy in every part of her face. Just...randomly all over her pretty face.
I didn't need sympathy. I didn't need anything....
I don't need someone to help me.
I...I don't need anyone.....
Out of nowhere, I heard a loud 'Hey!' on my left, and it sounded coincidentally familiar to Madison's voice.
Half of the students in the cafeteria were watching, turning their heads attentively in their direction.
"Hey yourself! Watch where you're going." A jock lashed out at Madison, while she sat helplessly on the dirty cafeteria ground. The money she meant to use were scattered on the ground as well.
"I didn't bump into you, you did jerk!" Madison hissed with gritted teeth.
Without another word, Madison proceeded to picking up her lunch money.
Quick but not yet quick enough, Madison's lunch money landed in the hands of the jock.
"Oh I'm sorry then. Is this your lunch money? Well too bad, it's mine now."
Madison looked incredulously at him, and bit her lips, I could tell just by her body language that she was holding back tears.
"Oh what's wrong? You gonna cry?" he taunted further.
What the hell are you doing Joseph!???!?!!? Help her for pete's sake. She's being picked on by an immature douche jock!!!
Almost immediately, I stood up and walked over to the scene with all the courage and strength I had left in me.
"Hey! Back off, give her money back." I managed with folded arms.
My body was tense and I could feel the sweat trickling down my neck.
Heck! I was nervous.
"This your new boyfriend Mad?"
"No he is not, now give me back my lunch money Sebastian. Don't be such an immature asshole. You're not in 1st-4th grade anymore. Grow up." Madison snapped back, her palm outstretched in a 'hand it over now' vibe.
"Well sorry Mad, no can do. And you!" Sebastian barked, his finger pointed towards me, "Don't ever interrupt me or think about doing anything heroic ever again."
"Look at you, you don't look like you can pack a punch at all, and I highly doubt that you can anyway. With your nerdy glasses and nose stuck in a book all the time, don't even bother, cause Imma make you blind if you do this again." Sebastian warned, simultaneously holding up the middle finger directed at me.
And at that moment, I lost all control of my very own body.
I remembered packing a few punches to Sebastian's face and kicking him in the shin, then he punched me and my glasses broke. And I blacked out.
Then, I heard Madison screaming.
What the heck?!
