Miserable

***Joseph***

"D-do you need me to bring y-you t-t-to the n-nu-nurse?" Madison stammered, her sobs and hitched breathes breaking me even more inside.

"Yes please....if that's not too much to ask." I answered softly, barely audible.

Immediately, she carried me up, my arms around her neck and her hands supporting my legs. She carried me all the way to the nurse's office.

As she laid me down on the bed, she left to talk to the confused nurse.

Her voice was muffled as she explained to the nurse why I was here again. After moments, the nurse walked in with her medical supplies...but no sight of Madison.

Did she leave already?

"Where's...ahh," I flinched as I sat up straighter, instantly sinking to lie down, "Madison?" I finished.

"I told her to get back to class. She can't stay this time, this would take more than just hours to fix." The nurse explained monotonously.

After cleaning the wounds, she began, "Who did this to you honey? This is serious damage."

"Sebastian...one of the jocks." I replied, hatred clear in my voice.

First he made fun of Madison, broke my glasses, made fun of my eyesight, damaged a little bit of Madison and I's friendship, harassed Madison, accused me of having sex with her and almost snapped my spine in two.

What the fuck is wrong with this dude?!

Seriously, he's getting on my nerves...

"Oh, him." Was all the nurse said in response.

Sighing, she continued, "You can't keep letting him hurt you like this. Please, don't try to resist him if you can't handle him, let me know...okay? Plus, it would get dear Madison so concerned. She was crying when she explained the situation to me. Such a sweet and caring girl."

"What can you do about this? To Sebastian I mean." I queried in genuine curiosity.

"I know how to handle him, he puts all this tough act up but when it comes to dentist or nurse or just anyone involved in the medical department, his tough act crumbles." the nurse giggled, wrapping bandages around my back now.

"Interesting." I mumbled, quite fascinated by this fact.

"He's scared of heights as well. Oh his tough act is adorable." the nurse chirped.

"Wow...I didn't know that...at all. That makes me feel better." I flashed a small smile at her after she was done wrapping the bandages around my back.

"Alright honey, get some rest. I'm gonna go and get some water for you." She smiled back, retreating to the office area outside the rooms.

Feeling better about my situation and condition of my back, I leaned my back against the bed.

I still cannot believe my ears that Sebastian, the douchey jock that enjoys ruining my life is afraid of heights and anything related to medical stuff. Probably why he doesn't play any sports in particular. He just considers himself a jock, and I guess it's convinced others as well.

Honestly, I quite enjoy falling, but of course falling onto a soft surface.

It's quite relaxing and it makes me feel so free and lightweight. As if the world just stopped.

I was snapped back to reality when a glass of water was placed on the table beside me.

"Rest well sweet cheeks. I'll wake you up when it's time to go home." The nurse informed me before she disappeared into the office again.

Well...looks like it's time for some..."beauty" sleep.

Yawn.

***Madison***

"This is terrible. I can't believe Sebastian would do such a thing...it's not like he cared to begin with. We're not even friends anymore." I cried, Jessica listening attentively beside me.

Jessica wasn't as bad as I thought. Spoiled but caring, I wonder why she was so hostile in the beginning.

"Madi, it's okay. I'm sure he's fine. At least his back didn't break into two right? I'm sure he's doing just fine. Don't worry so much okay?" Jessica comforted, wrapping her arm around my shoulder for additional comfort.

"But...Seb slammed him to the wall so many times. A-and his face, oh it was so painful to watch. He was in agony Jessica. He cursed for the first time, at least it's the first time I ever heard him curse. He must have been really mad." I rambled, panicking within the second.

"Madison, you're thinking too much into this. Over-thinking and over-analysing is really bad for your brain you know?" Jessica replied calmly, crossing her arms in disapproval.

"I'm sorry but this is really worrying and stressing me out." I replied, head bowed.

"It's okay Madi. All I'm asking right now is for you to stop worrying about Joseph, I know Sebastian did some serious damage to him, but don't worry about it okay? He's in the infirmary now, the nurse is taking care of him." Jessica flashed me a small smile and shrugged, in hopes that this would make me feel better.

Honestly, it didn't make me feel better. Maybe a little, but for the most part no.

Because I didn't want to trouble her further, I decided to just go with it and agree with her. She's been bearing with me for the past few minutes...she deserves it.

"Okay...." I said softly, looking away.

"Chillax alright sour plum? I'm gonna run along with my friends now. You'll meet them after school. Bye!!!" Jessica stood up and dusted herself off, patting my back before rushing off back to her group.

Alone and worried, all I could do was sit there and sob.

Miserable, it's so miserable.
