Twenty-Two: Lots of time.

***Joseph***

"Hi...co-worker..." I said nervously.

Madison was facing me and William, her jaw hanging.

"Hi. What the heck are you doing here?"

"I'm uh...I'm now an official member of the newspaper club. It's nice to start working with you." I explained, breaking it down to her simply.

"Yeah, I can tell co-worker, but...why?" She asked.

"Because...I wanted to?" I replied, confused myself.

This was awkward....

"Well just great. I don't know what to say about this." Madison said, throwing her hands up in the air frustratingly.

"Madison, I'm sorry if you don't like Joseph, but you understand why I accepted him right? I mean, it is only the two of us in the team, we could use some help." Will reasoned apologetically, shrugging his shoulders.

Sighing an exasperated sigh, Madison went back to her seat and sat down. "Will, it's fine. I'm just still very surprised and, my meeting with my skateboarding coach didn't go very well. Ignore me, I'm just tired."

"Okay then, let me show you how things go around here. Go ahead with your work Madison."

Will then grabbed me by the shoulders and led me to the printer, where all the news were printed.

I guess we're all in a daze now aren't we?

Will spat out so much information, I couldn't catch up with what he said. But maybe that's because I was looking at Madison 80% of the time.

She looked so stressed out, it was bad.

I wonder what happened to her.

"So do you know how everything goes in the paper now?" Will asked, breaking me away from my thoughts.

"Uh...y-yeah. Yeah." I stammered, head bowed in shame.

I didn't hear a single word you said Will, no shit.

Sorry....

Josh! Stop swearing!

Oh no.

"Okay then, now that you know everything you can go ahead and join Madison. You guys are now partners and assigned to work together in everything." Will said, gesturing to a frustrated Madison.

Madison was looking scarier within seconds.

Her head was bowed and her hands were cupping her cheeks. Locks of light brown hair covering her face.

"Go now. Go over and take the seat next to her, there's your computer where you're working." William said, nudging me and practically pushing me towards Madison.

Stumbling, I landed face first to the ground.

Such pain.

I don't know how to feel.

I hope I didn't break my glasses.

Ouch.

I don't know how to think.

"You're such a klutz." I heard Madison comment as she helped me up.

"S-sorry." I mumbled, my hands on my forehead.

What is happening today?!

I have to stop embarrassing myself in front of everyone and making a fool out of myself in front of.....Madison.

"Stop apologizing for Pete's sake. We'll start working on the project at my house okay?"

All I did was nod....

What happened next made me stiff as a board.

Madison took off my glasses and put a cloth on my forehead, wiping the little blood that was spilling.

It was little, but it was still blood.

She didn't have to do that...

Her face was so close to me it wasn't even funny.

We were in an awkward predicament and situation.

I wanted to push her away and help myself with the cloth, but somehow, I couldn't bring myself to push her away.

I couldn't bring myself to deny her blessings again.

Her hands were at work, her eyes were focused on wiping the blood away and her brows were knitted in concentration.

Suddenly, all the daze and confusion that I felt minutes ago disintegrated and all I could focus on was how close Madison's face was to mine.

The heat was rising fast to my cheeks...

"Okay." William clasped his hands together and coughed, creating a loud bang, "Back to work lads!"

Madison seemed to notice the position she was in after she was done wiping the blood from my forehead, she gently pushes me away and stands up, retreating to her seat like there was no tomorrow.

I could see from this angle that she was blushing and trying so hard to cover it up. Letting her hair fall and such.

It was....cute...

Time to start work.

Something tells me Madison and I are gonna spend lots of time together.

Lots of time.
