I do very much.
***Joseph***
"Okay Joseph, you have a nice time with Madison at her house alright?" my mum said to me, driving off quickly as soon as I stepped foot in her front yard.
Breathe in, breathe out Josh. It's cool.
Madison won't bite. She's super friendly. Don't blow it.
Taking in a deep breath, I adjust my composure and walked up to the door, ringing the door bell.
Ringing once, I wait patiently outside the house.
It would seem as though they couldn't hear the bell ringing because screaming and yelling could be heard within the house.
One voice, I recognized as Madison's and another's voice, was a much deeper voice, one probably from her father.
Then another bites in, most likely from her mother.
They seemed to be arguing about something, something serious because a loud crash boomed aloud soon after.
"Madison Bay Fiddle, do not for a second, think that you can run away from this!" the man with a deep voice hissed.
"I'm not running away. You're the one making a big deal out of this!" Madison screams back angrily.
"Do not raise your voice on me young lady. I don't have the time for that." he replied calmly.
"No, I don't have the time for this. You guys should be happy, I quit the skateboarding club in which you didn't want me in in the first place. Yet, you're making such a big fuss about it? I'm out of here." Madison said in disbelief, her figure soon becoming more visible through the translucent glass as she stomped off.
It was soon that I realized she was coming towards the door I was leaning on, pressing my ear against to hear their argument and conversation.
Before I could react and remove myself from the door, Madison slammed the door open and hit me right in the nose.
Stumbling, I landed butt first on the ground with a loud thud. "Ouch."
"Oh my God. Joseph? What the heck?! Don't stand right in front of the door like that, you scared me." Madison exclaimed as she helped me up.
"What are you doing here anyway?" She asked, wiping a stray tear from her cheek.
She looked...really bad.
She looked like she just suffered third degree burn or just something uneventful.
Her hair was still in the same braid she had put it today all tied up tightly, the loose hair sticking out and some loose strands of hair grazing her puffy red cheeks.
She looked like a hot mess.
Whatever happened inside was serious...and terrible.
"You said to do the project over at your house..." I replied after moments of observing her slumped figure.
"Well...can we do it at your house instead? I really don't want to go back in there." Madison asked wearily, the red and water in her eyes obvious to anyone.
"O..okay s-sure. Let me j-just call my mum." I stuttered, fumbling as I grabbed my phone.
"Wait!" Madison said, grabbing my hand to a halt. "Let me..grab my laptop and we can go over to a nearby coffee shop. We'll work there instead."
"You have everything you need right?" She queried before heading inside.
"Yes." I replied softly, nodding in the process.
