Cheers erupt around us and i get pulled into a group hug with all of my friends.
"We made it!" Marlene scream in my ear. A laugh escapes my mouth and I hug her. When I pull away warm arms wrap around my waist and I get turned around. Four puts his lips next to my ear and I sigh in content.
"Would it totally give us away if I kissed you?" He whispers softly. His breath fans against my ear and I smile.
"Yes. But I don't really care." I reply and then our lips are locked together. I can feel everyone's eyes burning into my skull, but I don't care. His soft lips move with mine and he pulls away too soon for my liking.
"Do you wanna get out of here before we are bombarded with questions?" he asks.
"That sounds great." I confirm and he quickly weaves us out the room. We step out of the loud cafeteria and my ear drums pop back into place.
"I can't believe you left me alone with Chris before." I scold.
"Hey! I didn't want to deal with your loud mouth friend." he exclaims. I roll my eyes and bump our shoulders together.
"Well thanks a lot." I sarcastically reply. He chuckles and wraps his arm around my waist.
"My apartment or yours?" He asks.
"We can go to mine." I shrug."Okay, tomorrow you're going to be moving into the higher apartments. This is your last night staying here." he lets me know. I nod and unlock my door. We enter my apartment, and I lock the door behind us.
"I never got to ask you something." he says and I raise my eyebrows as I go to the kitchen.
"What?" I ask.
"Who's Robert?" He hesitantly asks.
"A friend from back home." I say, telling half the truth. He looks at me with a look that tells me he's not believing me and I sigh."He lived right across the street from me, with his sister Susan. They were my two best friends since kindergarten. When Robert and I turned fifteen we dated, but went back to being friends. I don't think he ever got over it." I mumble. Four stares at me for a few moments then smiles.
"I don't think anyone can get over you. Anywhere you go you light of the room." he murmurs and wraps his arms around my waist. Relief floods my veins and He kisses my forehead. My arms loop around his neck and he pulls me against him.
"So... I was thinking. And I might be changing my position." he whisper hesitantly.
"To what?" I ask with furrowed eyebrows.
"I talked to Myra and she gave me a list of a a different things I can change to. When I think of my future, I see you in it. And I really want to help you find your brother. And figure out what happened to your parents... So I thought that we could, I don't know, be partners." he says. My eyes widen slightly and I stare up at him.
"Y-you want to be partners? With me?" I repeat in disbelief.
"It's up to you. But yea. You're a great person, you work hard, I trust you. I think we'd work good together." he confirms.
"O-of course. That sounds amazing." I stutter. He chuckles and gently presses his lips against mine.
"I was hoping you would say that." he whispers. A goofy smile forms on my face and I stand on my toes. I press my lips against his and he grips my waist.
"We just have to talk to Myra." he adds against my lips.
"Okay." i agree and he links our hands together. He smiles at me and I peck his lips.
"Do you want to go now?" He asks.
"We should talk to her tomorrow. Don't we choose our jobs tomorrow anyways?" I ask."Yea." he agrees and tugs me into the couch. He pulls me against him chest and nuzzles his face into my neck.
"What are you doing?" I laugh out.
"You my dear deserve some sleep. You've been working your butt off for the last few weeks." he murmurs against my ear.
"Says the trainer. You have to be up before everyone else, and you train harder than everyone else too." I tease and poke his arm. My eyes shut and he kisses my neck.
"Sleep, I can tell you're tired. You've been getting up earlier than needed for the last month. It's time for you to take care of yourself properly." he states softly. I smile and he kisses my neck once more before sleep takes over.
