Four runs his hands through my hair and I let my eyes shut. He presses a kiss to my neck and pulls me closer to his chest.
"I love you." He murmurs.
"I love you too." I quietly agree. We stay in a comforting silence, his arms wrapped around me in a protective manner, and my hands lingering over his. I don't know how long we stay here for. But it must be a while. My stomach roars to life, and four chuckles against my ear. My cheeks heat up with a blush. Four climbs out of bed and makes his way to the kitchen.
"Stay in bed." He orders when I start to shrug the quilts off of me. My eyes narrow at the commanding tone in his voice, but I stay where I am and let hm cook me dinner. Technically it's not dinner, since he decides to make my favorite food, waffles with strawberries and Nutella. He sets my plate in front of me and my mouth waters at the smell.
"Dig in." He murmurs and plops down next to me with him own plate. He doesn't have to tell me twice, he doesn't even have to tell me once.
Once we finish our food, he puts the dishes in the dishwasher and carries me to the couch. He wraps a blanket around me and goes to the tv. He clicks a few buttons on the DVD player, puts a movie in, then hits play. When he lays next to me, I cuddle against his chest.
"What movie is this?" I question.
"You'll see." He mysteriously replies. My curiosity spikes and I let my eyes focus on the tv.
______________
*Fours POV*
The movie ends and I look down at my sleeping princess. Her eyes are shut, and her eyelashes are resting against her skin. Her mouth is slightly ajar and her eyebrows are furrowed in a worried manner.I slowly stand up, wrap the blanket around her, and lift her into my arms. In her sleep, she cuddles against my chest. A goofy smile plasters on to my face and I lay her in bed.
"Goodnight sweetheart." I murmur and kiss her forehead. The crease between her eyebrows disappears, and I go into the dining room. It takes everything in me to leave her, even though she's just a few feet away, but I have to finish my work. I have to find her brother, and I have to prove myself wrong, he has to be innocent in all of this. If he's not, I don't know what Tris will do. She's still holding on to that thread of hope, she wants him to be innocent. But everything we've found, everything we've seen, says that he's guilty.
The apartment is silent besides my tapping of keys, and the rare scribbling of a pen. Hours pass like this until Tris lets out a whimper. I hear her rolling around in bed and quickly stand up. When I get to her, the sheets are tangled around her and tears are pouring out of her shut eyes.
"Shh, it's okay." I coo and wrap my arms around her small frame. "It's okay." I murmur against her ear.
It take a few minutes of calming her down, but she finally falls back into her dreamless state of mind. A sigh leaves my mouth as I look at the clock, I've been working for the past five hours, I need to get some sleep. I go back to the dining room, quickly shut everything off, then make my way back to Tris. When I lay down, she snuggles against me. Her eyes are now half open.
"Hey," I quietly murmur and get under the blanket.
"He was in my dream again." She softly sighs.
"I know sweetheart," I reply and kiss her forehead, "go to sleep. We'll talk about it in the morning."Her eyes shut once again. I wait a good half an hour until I know she's in a deep sleep before I let my eyes close. Tomorrow is going to be the day that I catch Caleb prior and I get Tris her answers.
