*fours POV*

When I wake up Tris is still asleep. I slowly swap myself out for a pillow, and slip out of bed. Her eyebrows furrow together and I kiss her forehead before leaving the bedroom.

I whip up a quick breakfast and put Tris' in the microwave to keep it warm. I don't want to wake her up when this is the first decent sleep she's gotten in a while.

As quietly as I can, I sit down in the dining room and open my email. Uriah, Chris, and Myra have all emailed me within the last few hours.

I open Myra's first, it's a simple paragraph telling me to have Tris open her next letter from her parents. I scribble a reminder down on a sticky note and put it on the table.

Next I open Chris's, she's just informing me of her plans with Tris. Plans that Tris doesn't know about yet. I feel bad not telling her, but she needs to get out of dauntless, a trip to the mall will be a good thing. Sometimes I forget that she's only seventeen, she should be at bonfires and sneaking into clubs. Not working as a full time agent.

Lastly, I open Uriahs email. Almost immediately, I know something's wrong. Uriahs usual emails include cake emojis and capital letters.

"Caleb has not given any information up. Zeke and I have tried everything. Every mind trick, every plead, every promise. Nothing seems to be working. We are going to have to resort to other measures if he doesn't give anything up soon. Let us know how Tris is doing. -uri."

A sigh leaves my mouth and I lean my head against the table. Tris is going to be furious if she figures out that we have her brother captive. It's to keep her safe though, I hope she understands.

I type a quick email back, explaining how Tris is doing, then send it.

Tris starts moving around in the bedroom and quickly exit out of the email. She enters the dining room and wraps her thin arms around my neck. Her nose nudges my neck and I chuckle.

"Good morning beautiful." I murmur and tug her on to my lap. Her eyes stay shut and she snuggles into my chest.

"Morning." She mumbles. I press a kiss to her forehead and she finally opens her eyes.

"What are you doing?" She asks and looks over at my laptop and the files laying on our table.

"Getting back to work. We have to get to the bottom of this." I state. She slowly nods and I smile.

"You're breakfast is staying warm in the microwave." I softly state. She immediately stands up and makes her way to the kitchen. A sigh leaves my mouth and I take a bite of my own food. She soon comes back with her food, and two cups of fresh coffee. She hands me one and I take a long sip.

"I only like the way you make coffee." I tell her and continue to drink more of the, usually, bitter drink. She some how makes it taste good.

"All coffee is good." She pouts and tugs the file towards her side of the table.

"No it's definitely not." I confidently reply. She stays silent and I move my laptop out of the way to look at her.

"What's wrong?" I ask as her eyes move across the sheets of paper. Her eyes flicker to mine and a look of anger forms on her face.

"You told me that David and my brother got away." She says in an accusing tone. A huff leaves my mouth and I let my head fall on the table. She figures everything out, I should've just told her.

"That was to keep you safe. And it was mostly true. David did get away." I repeat. I look up at her, and instead of anger there's a hurt look on her face.

"When were you going to tell me? Is he okay? Where is he?" She questions and quickly stands up.

"Tris-"
"You better not tell me that he's in a jail cell." She spats. I stand up and quickly catch her before she can leave the apartment. That won't do anybody any good.

"He's safe. I can promise you that. Although I can not tell you where he is. He's being questioned by Uriah and Zeke." I softly explain. Her eyes fill with tears and I pull her against my chest.

"Why didn't you tell me?! He's my brother four!" She screams out and tries to rip herself away from me. I quickly yank her back against my chest and she stiffens.

"I didn't want you to do exactly what you're trying to do... I know you. You're going to call Zeke and Uriah, force them to give you the address of where they are, then you're going to march your cute butt down there and cause a scene. Tris, you can't question him, and neither can I. Myra won't let you because you're his sister, and you're already saying that he's innocent. And she won't let me question him, because you're my girlfriend, and I'm angry that he's hurt you so much. There's no way either of us could actually get any worthy information out of him." I rant. Her body slowly relaxes and she lets out a long breath.

"I'm sorry I yelled at you." She murmurs. A chuckle leaves my mouth and I press a soft kiss on her cheek.

"I knew you would when you found out. Now, let's get back to searching for the real culprit. David."
