*Four's POV*
The angel laying next to me squirms in her sleep. She snuggles closer to me and I smile, pulling her against my chest. Her eyes slowly flutter open and her eyes trail to mine. A blush rises to her cheeks and she pushes her face into my neck. She takes a deep breath and I smile.
"Good morning beautiful." I murmur against her forehead. She stays silent and I sigh. When she's blushing and not talking, that means she's usually embarrassed about something. She has no need to be.
"You don't have to be embarrassed." I reassure. She slowly pulls away and looks up at me with wide blue eyes. I peck her plush lips and smile.
"I'll start breakfast." I state and stand up. I quickly tug a pair of sweatpants on, then leave the room. I go to the kitchen and soon hear the shower turn on. A goofy smile is planted on my face, but nothing can take it off.
I crack a few eggs in a bowl, scramble them, then pour them in the heated up pan. While they're cooking I start the coffee maker and add coffee grounds to the top. My phone buzzes from the counter and I quickly answer it.
"Hello?" I ask, annoyed at the distraction.
"It's Chris. Where's Tris, she's not answering her phone." Chris's familiar voice says."She's showering. I'll have her call you back when she gets out." I reply as I put a plate of eggs on the table by the balcony.
"It's kind of important. I need to talk to her." She replies.
"Chris, she'll be out of the shower any minute. I'll have her call you back-"
"Four, listen to me when I say this. I need to talk to your girlfriend and if you don't let me. I will march to your room and knock on it until someone opens." She angrily interrupts."Fine, one second. I'll go get her." I huff and leave the kitchen. I hold my hand over the speaker of the phone and knock on the bathroom door.
"Yea?!" Tris calls.
"Hey, can I come in?" I ask.
"Yea. Why?" Her hesitant voice replies. I sigh and open the door. Her head is sticking out from behind the curtain and she has a curious look in her eyes."Chris needs to talk to you." I state and hand her the phone. She wipes her hands on a near by towel, the outs the phone to her ear.
"What's up?" She questions.
"What?!?"
"What are you talking about?!"
"When did this happen?!"
"Why wasn't I aware?"
"Oh my god."
"I don't know."
"Yea he's right here."
"Okay."
"I said okay!"
"I'll see you in a little while."She hangs up the phone and hands it back to me. Her eyes are wide with shock and I frown. She must realize that she dropped the curtain be Ashe she quickly wraps it back around herself.
"What was wrong with her?" I question.
"I can't tell you." She blushes.
"Tris." I sigh in frustration."I'm sorry! I would if I could. But I can't. You're going to have to wait." She replies and shuts the curtain between us.
"Breakfast is ready." I sigh and leave the steaming bathroom.
_____________
*Tris' POV*I can tell four is disappointed that I won't tell him about Chris. But in my defense I promised I wouldn't. Im not going to ruin her trust by telling my boyfriend her secrets.
"Tris!" Chris shrieks and rushes towards me. She tackles me into a hug and I hug back.
"Chris! What's wrong?!" I worriedly ask.
"The note I was talking about the phone. I found it on the nightstand when I woke up this morning." She whispers and her eyes flicker to four who is standing a few feet away.
"What does it say?" I quietly whisper.
"Cmon." She replies and grips my arm. She drags me behind a car. She hands me a crumpled white piece of paper and I flatten it out.
'Erudite has the power to take all three hundred of you down. Don't underestimate them. Be cautious of everyone, this isn't a trap.' I quietly murmur.
"Chris this is obviously a trap! Do you want to believe this?" I quietly shout.
"I don't know! I mean, how did this person get in our room? And how would this be a trap? They're warning us that erudite can fight us back." She whispers back.
"Chris, we need to show Myra this. She can figure it out. But it doesn't seem right to me." I reply with furrowed eyebrows. She sighs in frustration and sticks the note back in her pocket.
"I'll go talk to her." She replies and walks away. Four immediately takes her spot and looks at me expectantly. I bite my lips and wrap my arms around his torso. I pull him into a hug and stand on my toes so I can whisper in his ears.
"Chris found a note, warning is that erudite has the power to fight us back." I quickly whisper. His body stiffens and he sucks in a deep breath.
"I think it's just a trap though." I reassure. His arms envelope me in warmth and he lifts me on to the back of the car. His lips meet mine and I smile against his lips. He nuzzles my neck and i giggle as I hug his neck.
"Not on my car!" Uriah shrieks from across the lot. A blush forms on my face and I pull away.
"I love you." Four murmurs against my ear.
"I love you too." I agree and move off of the car. I go back to being shorter than him and brightly smile up at him.Chris comes back to my side and four and I expectantly look at her. She sighs and shakes her head in disappointment.
"Myra said that we're not going to take this as a threat. Our plan is still on, we're the only ones that know about the note. We can't tell anyone, she doesn't wants to worry the rest of dauntless." Chris quietly states. Four nods and looks at me.
"We should get going then." He states, some people have already left. There's only about a hundred of us left.
"Yea, I'll talk to you when we get there." I promise and quickly hug Chris. She hugs back then let's me go. Four opens the passenger door for me and I climb inside, sending him a quick thanks.
Soon were on the road. Four's hands wrapped around mine, and our hands resting on my leg. The radio hums in the background of my thoughts and I close my eyes.
I hope that the note is just a joke or false. Because I don't think I can deal with any more of the people I love getting hurt.
Especially the one sitting next to me.
