Here is this nice little part. Update.
------
You started to worry a bit. Dave, sick? No.. No.. Calm down. People are gonna get sick. It happens. Maybe just a cold. "Do you think he will be okay?" Lindsay asked.

"Yeah.. I'll take him home soon."
Dirk responded.

Dave stirred slightly. He sat up slightly. You didn't know if he was awake since he had on sunglasses. That little frick.

"Hey (Name)." He said in a sleepy tone.

It was kinda attractive.

"I think I should head home. I don't feel goo- oh, Bro.. You're here."

He yawned.

After a few minutes Dave and Dirk left.

It was around mid-night and you needed sleep.

"Think he'll be okay?" You asked your sister.

She slightly smirked. "You really like that boy, huh?"

You felt a heat dust over your cheeks.

"Nawwww." You tried to play it off.

She just rolled her eyes and went upstairs with you following.
------

The next morning you quickly got dressed and ready for school. You even got to the bus early. Dave didn't arrive though.

He's just late.

You thought. Yeah. He's late.

Nope. That wasn't the case.

You got on the bus when it arrived and you felt about as lonely as before you met him. And when you passed by Brooke's house it only drew out more loneliness.

You got to school and you felt different.

Later going on to your classes you figured out it was because there was no one to make you laugh while you walked down the hallways. You where also carrying your own bag. Dave usually did that for you.

You decided to see him after school.

It was gonna be a long day.
-------
It was lunch time now. You sat alone- SHOCKER.

You just laid your head down. John noticed you where a bit upset and sat in front of you. "Hey, (Name)!" He said. You looked up and weakly smiled. "Hi John!" Excited to just see someone who didn't feel hate to you.

"You okay? Why are you alone? Where's Dave?" He asked.

"Yeah I'm fine. Dave is sick today. That's why I'm alone." You said. He frowned.
"Oh, well, I'll sit with you!" He said with a chuckle. He shifted in his chair a bit.

You sort of legit-smiled.

"Really?" He nodded. You two talked a bit and joked around. He even offered to fill in for Dave and walked you to your next class. You felt better now that you weren't so alone. It was last period, so you just needed to survive awhile longer.
------
Soon class was over and you ran straight for the bus. It couldn't come fast enough. You thought about walking, but quickly dismissed that when you realized you're hella lazy.

At 4 the busses finally showed up! Just a 30 minute bus ride home.

You tried listening to music. To get lost in it and calm down.

Soon you where snapped out of your thoughts when you passed by the house. That house.

Her house.

Her.

You had lost her memory when Dave came around. Now you'd found it. Imagine if all of this time you hadn't had Dave. You'd be stuck, huh? Yeah.

You might even fall into bad habits. That would probably take a toll on your body and your older sister.

Soon, those thoughts had stopped you. The bus stopped at your stop and you tried to calmly get off and seem natural.

But when you got off you ran to your house and dropped your stuff off.

Your sister must've heard your pestering because when you went downstairs. To the door. She was standing with her keys. "C'mon..." She said. You raised a brow. "I... I'm sorrry but Dave. I need to.. I need .. He's sick." You stumbled over your words.

She looked a little sad. "Yeah," she tried to smile for you. "Yeah, we are gonna see him."

"Oh!" You perked up and went with her. You got in the passenger seat and waited. You just wanted to see his cute little Dave face all smiley again.

Wait.

She's

Shes passing the Strider house. "Sis.." You said. She sniffled and nodded. "I know.."

"But- the.." She kept driving. She drove into a different street.

Your heart pounded within your chest.

She pulled into a parking lot. The parking lot of a driveway.

"Lin-" you began but your voice cracked.

She turned off the car and looked straight at you. "He's gonna be okay. Okay?" You shook your head. "Is...is it Dirk..?" You asked.

She slowly shook her head.

You got out of the car with her.

The walk to the room seemed treacherously long. You kept thinking awful things. You couldn't loose someone again. Not a friend. Not Dave.

Not again.

You where now riding up the elevator to his room now.. You already knew what was going down.

Soon you stood in front of the door. You where so eager to walk in and see he was okay. Now your body wasn't working. You where scared and afraid of what was waiting on the other side.

Your sister noticed your worry. She placed a hand on your shoulder and opened the door. You felt your feet sort of move. You took control and stepped forward.

You stepped in steadily.

Dave. There he laid. Lifeless looking. In a hospital bed and Dirk right beside him in a chair.

Your sister hugged the worried looking Dirk for comfort.

Your sister and Dirk where talking but you couldn't listen. Only stare at the poor, pale boy, lying unconscious in his hospital bed.

"Hey best friend." Dirk said. He stood up and hugged you. You smiled only slightly. "Hey Dork." You couldn't hold the smile. You stared at Dave. Tears almost swelled your eyes. "Is.. Is he..um.."

"He's just sick. He was also dehydrated.. We are still waiting for word from the doctor..." Dirk said. You sat down in a chair beside Dave and stared. "Is he..like.. Comatose?"

Dirk chuckled slightly.

"No no. He's just asleep. He's slept a lot today, doctor said it's because of the sickness.."

You nodded. Your sister and him talked again and left you to your thoughts.

He laid so.

Motionless.
