Alright alright.

Let's do a fun little time skip.

"Little"

Nah we skipping like

a month ahead. Alright that sets 50% of our setting.

On wit your story :3

"That makes zero sense."
Dave laughed slightly.

"It makes 100% sense."
"No. This animal did NOT evolve from a fish."
You refused to believe that this random animal had actually evolved from a small fish.

"Look, look." Dave pointed to the pictures of the fossils on the page.

"Look how their beginning common ancestor had little slits in their necks. Those are gills."

You sat there and stared the page down.

"Evolution is weird."

Dave shrugged and slid his paper back over.
"So that being said, what is the answer to number 17?"

You hated admitting up to it because this made no sense whatsoever. Biology wasn't your subject. Clearly, it was Dave's.

"Smol fish?"
Dave let out a chuckle.
"Close enough."

Slowly was everything falling back into place. Slowly, but surly. Your sister had finally admitted over and her and Dirk were finally together again. You don't know what changed her mind but bless? Dave was equally as happy to hear about it as you were.

You also heard about Dirk finding out. They've decided if this was the case they probably would end up sharing a home again. Which you were hella excited for.

Except your sister signed for 6 months on your apartment and still had awhile to go.

Everything was slowly filling itself out.

Finally, the last period bell had rung and you could go home.

For like a week now had Dave been coming to your apartment after school, and later on when your sister was home, Dirk would follow. It reminded you of before your old house, you know, burned the hell down.

--

So upon this little timeskip, you lied on the floor, with a Dave wrapped around you. You complained about the cold in your apartment earlier and asked Dave for a blanket, but he decided it would be better to make himself the blanket instead.

You didn't mind, it was nice and warm. His arms wrapped around you in some form. You sort of played on your phone to keep you distracted as you both lied in silence. Dave had fallen asleep and you couldn't move because he would probably wake up and then you'd feel just awful. It's similar to when your pet fell asleep on you and you have to get up, but you just sit there instead because it's illegal to move when an animal falls asleep on you.

You heard the door open and there was there two adult pieces to this puzzled, makeshift family.

Your sister walked in and set her bag to the side and noticed the position you two where in on the floor, and she smiled.
"Awe.." She slipped out.

You shrugged. The sudden movement and noise had woken Dave. He sat up and ran his hands through his hair. You got up and moved to the couch, and he followed, sitting beside you attempting to officially wake himself up.

Dirk stepped in right after your sister, happy to greet you with a forced hug. You never had an option. You were positive his friendly passes were an attempt at teasing you, like some type of adoptive older brother.
