He blinked.
"I mean... Yeah.. Why wouldn't I?"
"Well... I just figured sin-"
"Nononono." He realized he was still holding on to her hand. He didn't let go.
She sat there, looking at him with confusion.
"How long have you been here?"
"I came up here as soon as they called me.."His eyes where visible. This moment she probably would have cherished, the ability to see him so worried and out of normality, and also the fact his really nice eyes were looking straight at her, without a filter. Except she couldn't savor this because damn was her head in pain.
She tightened her grip on his hand out of pain, and grabbing on to her head. She cringed at touching the open wound. Dirk grabbed her other hand and put it down. "Don't touch it."
She lifted her hand back up, and yet again did he put it down. "Lindsay, no." She frowned. "It hurts."
"Well I mean, yeah..."
Lindsay looked around and blinked. "H-hey.. Where is (Name)?"
"They put her in the emergency room. Dave is with her.""WHAT?" She forced herself to sit up quickly and on impact, was met with a terrible ache.
Dirk frowned and moved her to lie back down. "No, no."She looked up at him fearfully. "Is she alright?!"
Dirk have a small smile. "She's alright. She sat here next to you for a good few hours. They told her she had to go back down to the emergency room so they could check her out."
As if on perfect time, Dave had led you into the room.
You made your way in the ICU, to see your sister had awoken. A smile spread across your face. Once you made it beside her bed, Dave made you sit down. Though, you didn't complain.
"Oh dear God you're awake." You smiled at your sister. She smiled at you. "I'm glad you don't look too hur- oh your head.."
You giggled. "You should see yours. At least mine didn't bleed .. I don't think."
"Yeah.." She laughed and reached up to touch it. Dirk stopped her and put her hand down.
"Do you feel okay?" She asked. "What happened?""A concussion, dear sister. They told me I have a mild concussion."
Your sister frowned. "Oh..."
"I have a feeling you're going to be feeling much worse." You said. She nodded.
You also took this moment to notice them two little homies were holding hands. Still looked exactly the same as when you left Dirk here with your unconscious sister.
Still it was cute.
"Lindsay?" A deeper voice was heard. Everyone turned to see a man with darker skin walking to the direction of were you all where.
"Kane?" your sister muttered.
"Who the hell is Kane?" Dirk said, looking directly at him.
"Oh my god you're alright..." He muttered as he stepped forward, he stood right beside you. "Hey (Name)! You look like you're doing alright too. "
Stop it dawg, you ain't slickYou just looked up at him.
He reached down and grabbed your sister's free hand. "I heard what happened."
It was actually rather hilarious how awkward this was. Two guys who will probably end up at each other's throats, now both holding her hand.
When your sister noticed this she pulled her hand away from both of them and crossed her arms. "H-how did you know we were here?"
Kane blinked.
Slaaaaaay hiiiiim."It was on the news. A man beating two girls. When I found out it was you I came up here as fast as I could."
Dave frowned and squeezed your hand. When did he grab your hand? You looked up at him and noticed his shades where back in place, on his face. You frowned and looked at Dirk. His were too. What..?
It was kind of silent.
"Hey do you know I will fight you." Dirk said, staring straight at Kane. He never really stopped. You held in your laughter.
"Hey aren't you the floor manager of floor number 7?" Kane asked with a smile. "Wow it's nice to meet you. That's a tough floor I hear."
"Excuse me sir." A nurse walked in. "You can't be back here. Unless you're in immediate family or emergency contacts."
She was looking at Kane.
"Oh uh.. Alright.." He turned and smiled to Lindsay. "Please get better soon." And with that the nurse directed him away.Lindsay looked back at Dirk. "Now you didn't have to be so mean."
"I wasn't being mean. I was informing him if it was necessary, I would fight him. Also dominate him. Tear his bloodline apart."
You giggled a little. You heard Dave scoff too.
Lindsay sighed. "Alright, fair enough."
---
At least another thirty minutes went by of Lindsay trying to pick at the wound on her head again. Dirk eventually grabbed both of her hands and kept them from moving. You, on the other hand, sat with Dave right next to you. He let you lean on him because you would often feel dizzy from sitting up. He had his arm wrapped around your waist and you lied on his shoulder.
"The tables of turned." He whispered.
You laughed, knowing what he was referencing. When he was hungover and you dragged him along, with him on your shoulder.
A male nurse stepped into the room. He brought a small metal cart with him. "Hi Miss (Last Name)! I'm glad you're finally awake."
She smiled. "Me too."
He was damn fine. He had a nice jaw-line and he wasn't too thin. His hair framed his face nicely and his tone was firm but kind.
<<my friend reads over this with me sometimes and she said I described Dirk without the main details, fml>>
"Well it's time to stitch up that wound."
Lindsay frowned. "I don't want to..""Why not?" He asked kindly. You and Dave where in the corner and no longer beside your sister, so he moved on the other side of Lindsay. "It's going to hurt. I will keep the wound clean instead." She smiled sweetly.
Dirk did the thing. The strider smirk thing. That strider smirk man.
"I'll hold your hand." He said with a cocky voice.Lindsay frowned. "I'm not twelve."
Dirk smiled. The nurse laughed as he prepared the needle and the thread. "Okay.." He said as he set the needle down. He pulled out a small towel and some kind of solution. He put the towel on the top of the end and tipped it over, and quickly lifting it again.
He put the bottle down. "This might sting a little.."
He gently dabbed the wound. "Ow ow ow ow oW OW O W O W."
The nurse laughed. "I'm sorry." He set the towel away. You guess he was cleaning the wound? A little bit of fresh blood seeped through. He grabbed the needle and tilted her head back.
He slowly slid the needle through the wound. Lindsay's breath hitched. She almost instantly grabbed on to Dirk's hand and from the looks of it, she was clenching on pretty tight. Dirk just smiled.
She whimpered every occasion, during this suturing. Also she never let go of Dirk's hand. It was adorable to watch.
Though at some point you turned away a hid in Dave's chest because blood would trickle out of the wound and it was starting to get gross.
So instead you just lied on Dave's chest. Which is what you where doing at this very moment.
