You where being dragged by the tall man.

"This isn't something I want to do."
"Well, as your best friend, I'm going to have to say shut up, and let me help ya."

You groaned.

"You aren't even. Why... I.."
"Lindsay is still at the doctor, remember? She's got her a little baby-child, therefore, I am taking responsibility for you."

You groaned again. Then you stopped and crossed your arms. "No."

Dirk looked down at you.
"Yes."
You shook your head.

"I swear to God, I will lift you up and carry you myself."
--

"D I R K." You squirmed around in his grip he had on you.

"I gave you the option to walk. You decided against it."

He was not joking. There is no kidding in the hood. You flailed around as he had no problem walking down the hallway, with everyone watching you two.

He kept a straight face this entire time while you struggled intensely.

He walked back into one room and sat you down on the bed thingy. "There. Now sit and behave."

You began to get up, but he swiftly moved straight in front of you, blocking any possibility of running away.

"Dirk, these things are painful."

He nodded. "Yeah, sometimes they're a bitch, but hey, Striders get through it."

"But I'm not a Strider."

"Sucks to be you."
He laughed.
"RudE." You gasped.

"You're calling me rude but you punched a girl once."

"You invited my pregnant sister to go drinking with you at a bar and kissed her later, while being drunk off of your ass."

He gave you a look.
"Dave told me."

"Well, you beat up that Shyla girl for pouring hot coffee on you."

"You stabbed Kane and beat him up for reasons still unknown."

"I don't like him." Dirk crossed his arms. "Why is that?"

"He's a fuckass."

You laughed. He stepped away and leaned against the wall, giving you a little trust.
"Are you jealous?" You asked.
He didn't respond.
"You are jealous!" You laughed.
"No, no. Nothing does that man have that I could want."
"A grip on my sisters friendship."
Truthfully you hated Kane, but this teasing was his punishment for dragging you to such an awful place.
"Well, she's having our child so I win." He said in a mildly basic teenage white girl voice. You laughed slightly.

Suddenly, a nurse entered with a smile. You frowned. "(Name)?" She asked. You nodded. She wrote something down and nodded.  You internally sighed as she discussed with Dirk an overview of your medical stuffs.

She left a few minutes later. You looked at Dirk. He smiled. "It won't be so bad."
"Liar."
"Nah, Nah. Nah." He waved his hand in a dismissive fashion.
"The stabbing of needles through your arm is painful."
"The needles are smol."

You opened your mouth to argue, but the nurse walked back in. She smiled at you. "I promise I will make this as painless as possible."

"I will give you five dollars if you just say that I have gotten my shots."

She laughed. "I'm afraid I can't do that."
"Why not?"
"It's illegal." She answered.
