Hows It Going?

"How is it going there..?" You asked him, resting on the floor beside him. This was your new apartment. It felt empty and your room was less big for your posters, but you made it work. Your sister was going through a lot right now and she didn't need you breathing down her neck.

Dave frowned and then shrugged. "He's been moping around a lot. He goes to work and then comes home and then goes to his room and just. Stays there. It's rather sad."

You frowned too.
"Oh no, that's awful..." There was a pause. "He doesn't seem like the type to mope over a break up."

"He isn't. He doesn't. I mean you saw him with her. He seemed to really love her. He's only loved a few."
Dave shrugged.

You leaned forward and kissed him. He smiled slightly.

"How's your sister doing?"
"I'm not sure... Depressed maybe? I'm not a doctor,  but she only leaves the house to work. And she doesn't talk a lot and she won't eat really."

"How sad." He moved closer and placed his hand on your back, pulling you closer in.
"Do you think she will be alright...?"

You shrugged.

"I'm sorta sad too. I liked being with you guys. It was fun. I mean you know you're happy when you don't want to go to sleep anymore.. Hah..."

He smirked slightly and kissed your cheek, and then sat up.
"Come on.."

You sat up and followed him. "Where are we going?"
"Lets just go exist for a bit." He slid his red jacket upon his shoulders and grabbed your hand.

You and he made your way out of the door, going down an elevator to the lobby, and leaving.

You left the apartment complex, hand in hand. "So what should we do...?" He asked as you two made your way down the street.

You looked at him. "About what..?"

"Dirk and Lindsay."

You looked a little confused.

"I don't think we should do anything about it.. It's their life and thei-"

"(Name), he had an engagement ring." Dave looked at you with a cock to his head.

You sighed. "Maybe it was someone else who got into the relationship? Maybe we shouldn't interfere."

"And maybe one day one of our siblings will get up and move away and the other won't be here to follow because we aren't fully apart of each other's lives. Maybe a man will break into my house and shoot me. Maybe the world will come to an end tomorrow. We don't know. But we can figure out why they are acting like children, and stop them, because this is stupid. It was obvious they really cared and loved each other and then it just ends? Dirk just lets her walk out the door? It doesn't make sense. It's stupid. Now not only are they suffering at the loss of the other, but you and I suffer too. I see you less now."

You blinked.

"Dave the most I've heard out of your mouth is apple juice and Kanye West becoming president.... Why are you so passionate about this...?"

"I'm not passionate about it. I just strongly disagree with stupid things. And this is stupid."

"Why do you assume we are responsible for fixing it?" You rubbed your arm. He let go of your hand and pulled you close, wrapping an arm around you.

"We aren't. But if you and I where in this position of "break-up" I know neither one of them would like it and would try and get us to get along."
He sighed a little.

"Aww, you do care for your brother!"

"I never said I didn't. This is just... "

"Stupid?"
You finished.

He nodded. "Exactly."
--
For almost an hour you two just walked around, turned, and then headed back for the apartment complex.
--
You both went up the elevator to your floor and made it back to your apartment. You opened the door to find the hallway light had been turned on. Sister was home.

You both stepped in to find her walking into the living room with no pants, carrying a laundry basket.

"Hello sister." You smiled. This was no new
Sight for you. Meanwhile, Dave slowly and awkwardly lifted his hand to his eyes and turned around. You giggled as Lindsay reached for basket ball shorts to slip on.

"Alright Dave, you're fine."
She smirked the slightest as he turned around and didn't say anything.

You giggled slightly.

"So hey, how are you doing...?" He asked, a small smile appearing on his face, but then it disappeared.

She smiled at him. "I'm doing well, and you?"

"I'm alright."

"That's good."

You found it rather sad no one actually cares how anyone was really doing. They cared about the problem at hand. Which wasn't much of a problem anymore. It was more of a situation that sucked but no one was going to fix. It wasn't something that was going to fix, was it?

You internally sighed at your sad thoughts, while your sister and Dave conversed.

"Uh oh, bro wants me home."

You snapped back to reality. ((*contains self from making Eminem joke*))

"Aw." You sighed.
"Don't say aw." He smirked and nudged your arm. "I was with you all day."

You smiled. It's true. He was.

It was getting late anyways. It was already 9:30. If things where back to normal, you and Dave would be sitting in his room right now, watching the new episode of (Fav. TV show).

But tonight there was no new episode. The season finale was last week. And now you don't live together anymore.

"Dave, would you like a ride home...?" Your sister kindly offered. He smiled and shook his head.

"That's alright, I can walk."

She frowned.

"Dave it takes thirty minutes to get here, with driving. And it's cold and dark, I'm not going to let you walk."

"Ah don't worry about it, Linds, I can manage."

"How did you get here in the first place?"

"Bro drove me." He smiled to her.

She grabbed her keys from the counter.

"Nope, I'm driving you."

He looked at you and shrugged, grabbing his bag from the couch, and heading out the door, following your sister. You followed him and shut the door behind you.

He reached down and grabbed your hand, intertwining your fingers as you both followed your sister to the drive-in part of the complex, where cars where parked.

You three walked with a silence following. You finally made it to her car, moments later.

"I'll sit in the back with you." You smiled at him. You both got in the back, as your sister started the car.

You where kind of sad that it had to be this way.

Lindsay driving him home instead of him walking upstairs to his room. It's as if it where before Dirk and Lindsay got together. Now it's like being strangers again, and you didn't like it.

You sighed.
