Dave was holding on tightly. He walked slow, bless the lord. It was hard for you to walk at a normal pace. Your head hurt too much.
You felt nervous. As if she where ... Nah. Everything's fine.
He led you, finally, to the ICU.
You could see Dirk, sitting beside her. He was holding her hand, keeping it in his.
"Dave.. Is she..
Dave is she not awake?" You looked up at him. He shook his head. "Not when I first saw her.."
You felt your heart drop. He guided you in there. When you stepped in, Dirk looked over. He must've heard you.
"Hey best friend." He smiled a little. He didn't have his shades on either. Damn was his eyes just as beautiful as Daves. They both had a wonderful color to them. So brilliant and colorful.
"Hi Dirk,"
You smiled as Dave say you down beside your sister. You instantly frowned. Her jawline was completely bruised on the right side. Her eyes was black. Her bangs where pushed away to reveal a large gash on her forehead, where her hairline stopped. "Oh my God.." You mumbled. Dave held a hand on your back."Is she..."
"She's unconscious." A man with a white lab coat stepped in. He was the doctor.
"Now I don't think that she will fall into a comatose state, though if she doesn't wake up in the next few hours she will be considered comatose.... "
You frowned at the doctor. "You must be her sister. How do you feel, sweetheart?" He asked, stepping forward to examine your forehead. "I'm.. I'm okay.. I'm just in a little bit of head pain."
He smiled kindly at you and nodded.
"I don't want you using too much energy, alright? You're fine for right now though."You nodded. He looked down at her and frowned. "As for her, we have to wait. She took quite a fall."
You looked down at her. She looked like she was sleeping peacefully. You felt Dave wrap his arm around your shoulder. You leaned back and rested your head on his stomach.
"Dirk... Why did you come?" You finally asked. He looked up at you. "I .. I don't mean that in a rude way.."
"It's fine.."His voice sounded the same as when you lied to him about visiting the house. Brooke's house. When he didn't sound so kind.. But this tone had a different meaning behind it.
"I.. Am ashamed to say I made the mistake of letting you both just leave. Though I still love her, I really do. I've been meaning to try and talk to her, but I fear the worst will happen. I don't know.. Maybe I missed my opportunity?"
"Don't say that.. She isn't gone." Dave chimed in. He nodded.
"Then again, this wouldn't have happened if I hadn't have let her leave."
You sighed and kept your eyes down on her again.
--
After another hour of sitting with her, a nurse came in."We really need to get you down for X-rays, honey." The kind nurse prodded.
Truthfully, you didn't want to go alone.
You slowly got up and walked to the lady. Dave was behind you. He grabbed your waist again and led you there. The nurse happily showed you to the room. You felt a little better. Walking wasn't so hard. Maybe because you quite literally put all of your weight on Dave. He didn't seem to mind as he walked with you.She went down another hallway and stopped.
Dave let you go and smiled at you. He stepped back a little bit and let you go. No one is allowed back there. Unless a patient of course. The nurse let you go in where you where greeted with a nice looking man. He was tall and lanky. "(Last Name)?" He asked. You nodded. "Yes sir."
"Alright. Since you're not going below the neck, you can keep your clothes on. " Bless. You didn't feel like changing clothes. He made you stand somewhere after asking you questions of being pregnant, and so on. He instructed your breathing and took a few on the X-rays.
After that, he let you go where Dave guided you back. It wasn't far away, just a hallway away. You both came back and found Dirk sitting right where he was before.
You sat back down next to Lindsay, and across from Dirk. Dave kept behind you and kept his hand on your back.Dirk, still had her hand in his. They really did vary in every way. She was so much smaller than him it was rather adorable.
"She feels so cold." Dirk said after a moment. You frowned.
"You're never dead until you're warm and dead."
You can't remember who it was that you heard that from.
It meaning, if you're dead from being so cold, you can be revived with warmth. You're truly gone if you're dead and you died at the normal human temperature.--
You where back in your room, two and a half hours later.A concussion. You have a mild concussion.
Well at least it's not severe! With mild only comes the occasional headache and dizziness. You should be fine if you're careful. Yeah. You'll be careful.
Now, they where just in the process of getting you the hell out of this emergency room. You where ready to go back to Lindsay's side.
Meanwhile in the ICU, left Dirk and a unconscious body. He had hardly moved from where he was before. Too .. Worried? Or frightened?
Yet alas, her heart rate began slowly speeding up. You could hear her slightly moan, as she opened her eyes, slightly.
Dirk didn't notice until he felt a tightening on his own hand. He looked up to see her finally waking up. A small smile appeared on his face. Happy? Relieved? She took her hands and held them against her eyes for a moment, before slowly sitting up.
"Lindsay?" He said as he slowly pushed her back down. She looked over, as confused as she was, she was even more confused to see Dirk sitting beside her. He had grabbed her hand again and gently squeezed it. "D-Dirk? What the hell?"
She instantly grabbed her head. "Fucking hell." She said, feeling the wound. "Oh my God what happened?"
When she was a little less groggy, he explained to her the situation. Who had hurt her. He explained she was asleep for hours. It didn't take him long to explain.
"Okay.. Then why are you here?" She sat up again, but not by much because damn did it hurt.
"I was called up here."
"... And you came?"
