"What. The. Fuck." Lindsay crossed her arms and stared down at the man below her on the hospital bed.

"Nice to see you too.." Kane frowned.
"What's wrong, friend?"

"Don't you act innocent, boy, you hurt Dirk. You stabbed him. You fucking stabbed him."

"Oh that.."
"Yes. That. "

"Lindsay, that man is too attached to you. He won't let you see anyone without requiring a prostate exam and a background check."

"That's not true. That also doesn't mean you go and stab him in his organs. "

Kane shrugged. "He was attacking me."

She sighed.
"I can't fucking believe you.." She muttered.

Kane looked down. His wrist was sutured and wrapped up. His face was a little bruised as well.

"Lindsay..." He looked up at her. She didn't ease her glare.

"I think you're just really hurting. I mean it was clear to all of our coworkers you and he were more than happy to be together. Joined at the hip. Now he leaves you and you seem lost."

She dropped her arms.
"Don't say that, I'm doing just fine."

"Now it hurts even more that he's placed himself back into your life and you can't have him."

"Don't say that."

He shrugged again.
"I was just coming to visit you, and he went batshit on me. He told me he didn't want me seeing you. See that? Controlling your life for you."

"You make him sound so evil."

"He kind of is."

"He isn't."

Kane frowned. He looked straight at her.
"Listen, I'm sorry.. " His voice softened.
"I .. I just enjoy being around you. Your presence itself is nice. You deserve someone .. Someone like yourself. I just want to see you happy, and safe ... It just worries me for you to have someone in your life who could easily control it."

She sighed again. She lifted her hand and pressed it against her forehead, resting there a bit.

"Thank you, love." Her voice dropped to that of weary.

"-but Dirk isn't bad. I was the one to fuck up the relationship. It was my fault, not his.. Don't make him sound so cruel when this was my doing.."

"Why did you leave..?" Kane wasn't complaining, honestly. Despite him still lurking over her shoulder all the god damn day, this was far easier than if he wasn't.

She shrugged.
"I'm an idiot."
"Don't say that.. You're not.. You made a mistake. People do that."
"No, I-
Hey stop that."
She glared at him.

"I'm angry at you, you clod."
"-and we are going to forget he stabbed my god damn arm?"
"You pulled out a fucking knife! You stabbed him first! Twice apparently! Kane you could have killed him, damn it."

He sighed.

You sat in the room and listened to Dave and Dirk converse.
Dave finally came out and told him he punched a kid in the face and to probably expect a call from the school later.

Dirk was kind of upset at first, but then realized where he was and he had no room to talk.

"Aside from him being a completely awful person, he was messing with (Name)." Dave crossed his arms.
"I don't know for how long but I saw him push her around for a few days, and it got old.."

Dirk turned his head to you with a frown.
"Is that true? Was there really some kid picking on you?"

You nodded.
"Yeah, but, I didn't mind. I mean it made the others laugh, so he was getting some enjoyment out of it."

"That doesn't matter." Both Dirk and Dave said in unison.
They stopped and looked at each other.

"You shouldn't let kids mess around with you." Dirk continued, looking at you again.

"He won't, anymore.." Dave mumbled, referring back to him punching this kid.

"Never the fuck mind Dave, I'm proud of you." Dirk looked back at Dave. Dave shrugged.

Lindsay came walking through the door a moment later.
She looked just as upset as when she left to go find Kane.

"Welcome back." Dirk said in a very teasingly perky voice.
She sat down next to his bed, where she was before she left, and sighed.
"Quiet, Strider."

He laughed.
"I'm sorry, I'm just being cute."
You laughed.

"Dave punched a kid in the face for picking on (Name)."
Dirk gave a thumbs up. "I'm a proud brother."

Your sister shot her head up at you.
"Some kid was picking on you?"

You got a glare at Dirk.
"Thanks good friend."
He shrugged. "Just stating my proud-brother status.

"It's not a big deal.. I promise..." You sighed.

"Excuse me..." A male nurse interrupted.
"We're getting ready to sign him out, but we need you to sign him.." He smiled at Lindsay.

"Me..? Why me..?"
She asked. He frowned.
"Aren't you his wife...?"
Both you and Dave gave each other a look and contained your laughter. Dirk smirked at Lindsay.

"What?" Her face tinted pink.
"No.. No I'm not his wife..."
"Oh.. My mistake! Girlfriend?"

Dirk, being in the cocky mood he was, found it fantastic how flustered she was clearly getting at this nurse.

"N-no.." She lowered her voice.
You couldn't help but giggle. You didn't blame Dirk for the prestigious smirk, this was already hilarious.

"Oh.." The man brought the paper and pen to Dirk, handing him the clipboard.
"I guess you can sign yourself out then.."

Sorry this is short my dears, but I wanted to get another out! Just a small one. I tried to have fun with it since I'm feeling rather down, so if it seems like I'm trying too hard ... Or something ... Then I'm sorry, lmao.
This was also sort of a filler.
