The drive to the hospital was both impressive and terrifying. Jiang Cheng pulled out all the stops hitting speeds that would receive roars on a race track much less dodging through street traffic. Nie Huaisang had been glad his back was to the windshield. He didn't want to see as long as they got there quickly. By the time Jiang Cheng pulled up to the Emergency Room door, only seven minutes had passed.
The pressure on Yu Bin's hand had helped slow the flow further as had the pressure on Wei Ying's wound but neither man looked good. Yu Bin was still conscious but it was becoming a struggle to keep him awake. Wei Ying had been unconscious the whole ride and was very pale. His breathing had become almost indiscernible.
As soon as the squad car stopped, it was swarmed. Hospital personnel were pulling the doors open to gently remove both Wei Ying's limp form and Yu Bin. Wei Yuan had scrambled out of the car and had a hold of Wei Ying's jean leg as he lay on the gurney.
Nie Huaisang had let them get Yu Bin out and on a gurney before taking his uninjured hand in his. "I'm right here, A'Bin. You're going to be okay." Yu Bin had offered him a small smile that was returned with affection.
Lan Wangji and Jiang Cheng were running in right behind the groups taking the two injured men in.
Yu Bin was being taken straight ahead toward swinging doors. The doctor looked at Nie Huaisang and announced snidely, "You can't come back."
Definitely the wrong man to take this approach with.
The Spider's eyes narrowed. "Where he goes, I go unless you want an exposé detailing every secret your family has had in the last three generations." His voice was factual and vicious. He meant every word. "Now move it. He needs care now." He gave the doctor one last look. "If you hurt him, I'll do it anyway."
The doctor swallowed. Loudly. "Let's get him in! Move, move, move!" Nie Huaisang went with them and no one said a word.

Wei Ying was surrounded by staff. He already had an oxygen mask on as they ran him to the back. As they got closer to the doors, Lan Wangji grabbed Wei Yuan and pulled the boy up into his arms. All Wei Yuan could see was they were taking Wei Ying away from him. He panicked.
A scream of "NO!" rang through the ER as the child began thrashing and screaming. It was the final straw. Wei Yuan had experienced too much this day alone. His supposed father, Wen Chao, had beaten him as he lay in the dark mourning his mother who was murdered by none other than Wen Chao. He had listened to Wen Chao decide he would be a child sex slave. He had seen Wei Ying actually fight for him and his safety. Watched Wen Chao stab Wei Ying and heard Wei Ying call him son. The first time a male had called him son. Then they took him away. They took Wei Ying away from him. Wei Yuan didn't believe he would ever come back and it was more than he could take.
Lan Wangji held on, ignoring the blows and squirming to escape. He began to talk softly in Wei Yuan's ear.
"Wei Yuan. I won't let you go. Wei Ying is injured. He must have help for him to come back to us. We will be by his side as soon as we can. I won't let you go, Wei Yuan. It's going to be okay." The same sentiments were repeated over and over in the same calm voice as gradually, Wei Yuan exhausted himself and he stilled in Lan Wangji's arm's sobbing and babbling. "He killed my mother! He killed Wei Ying!" it was a heart breaking wail.
Lan Wangji froze. "Who killed your mother, A' Yuan?" His voice was still calm but his eyes were auric ice.
"Wen Chao. He punched her and she fell and her neck was wrong. It bent wrong and she just stared and she died!" It was another wail.
"Shhh... Wei Ying isn't dead. My brother is helping him. You're safe now. I won't ever allow Wen Chao to hurt you again." He gestured to a nurse and mouthed, "A warm blanket."
