Nie Huaisang grabbed his laptop and his favorite fan then tore out of his office.

"Get the back up there NOW!!" He yelled as he ran from the department.

Sprinting down the corridors, he bellowed "MOVE! MOVE! MOVE!" as he dodged around people too startled to get out of his way.

When he arrived, he threw open Jiang Chengs's door surprising the three men inside.

"I found him. I found him. He's hurt. Gotta go now!!" Nie Huaisang gasped out.

Jiang Cheng vaulted over his desk.

"KEYS!"

The patrolman handed them over and stepped back. He didn't know what was going on but he sure as hell wasn't going to get in Jiang Cheng's way right now.

'Gods help the person who does' he thought as he watched the two run from the office.

In no time, Jiang Cheng was behind the wheel of a black and white squad car with lights flashing and sirens blaring as he sped away from the station.

"Where am I going?" he yelled.

Nie Huaisang was trying to catch his breath and get his laptop to reconnect to Yu Bin and Lan Wangji's video feeds as well as use the GPS locator.

"Red Light district. Yiling. Yu Bin and Lan Wangji undercover? Yiling, the man they were looking for is Wei Wuxian." Nie Huaisang yelled back.

Jiang Cheng was blowing past the traffic. He had hesitated once where his brother was concerned. Never again.

"He got stabbed. Back up is on the way. Turn left here!"

The Spider was dividing his attention between his laptop and their current location. The left turn was tight enough the seat belt dug into him leaving a bruise he didn't notice.

"STABBED!" It was a roar. "Who the fuck stabbed my brother?" Jiang Cheng was yelling louder as he drove even faster.

"Wen Chao. I have it on tape. That bastard won't escape this time! Right! Turn right!"

The tires squealed as the car drifted perfectly around the corner. Nie Huaisang looked at Jiang Cheng with a whole new level of respect.

The explosion of broken glass showered the room and its occupants. Lan Wangji hit the floor with a grunt and slid. He shook his head then stood up to face Wen Chao who was just standing there, mouth agape.

Lan Wangji didn't bother to announce he was a police officer. There was already one person injured and the perp still had a knife. The first blow took the knife out of Wen Chao's hand. It skittered across the floor stopping nearby.  After that, it was a flurry of smooth motion. The results of the impact were what conveyed the force of the beating Wen Chao was taking. The way his head snapped back. The suddenly bleeding lip. The buckling of his knee. The odd angle of his now broken left arm. Wen Chao was caught in a macabre dance of pain and Lan Wangji didn't offer him an ounce of mercy.

A blow to Wen Chao's solar plexus whooshed the air out of his lungs leaving him lying on the floor trying desperately to breathe. Lan Wangji stood over Wen Chao like an avenging angel. He didn't regret beating the bastard to a pulp. Not one little bit.

A soft moan of pain behind him caught his attention.

He turned to Yiling. A blood stain was spreading across the white shirt fast. Kneeling next to Yiling was the boy. He had a death grip on his hand.

Lan Wangji knelt next to Yiling as well. He lifted his shirt to locate the wound, then started putting pressure on it. Yiling groaned. His breathing was becoming more and more labored.
