"Excuse me! May I help you?" a nervous receptionist asked.

Feng Mingjing didn't even look at her.

"No, thank you." He hadn't slowed down in his deliberate pace to the elevators.

"May I ask where you are going, officer...?" Her voice trailed off when he paused and looked directly at her.

"No, you may not." His tone and statement were polite. His eyes were cold though.

She gulped. "I-I am s-supposed to ask."

"Then you have done your duty with due diligence." With that, Feng Mingjing started for the elevators again.

The woman plopped down in her seat and stared after him. Reaching for her desk phone, she hit a single button. A few buzzes and a stiff 'Wei' as the call was answered.

"Security?" She looked again at the officers entering the elevator. "I think there is about to be a problem."

_____

Feng Mingjing watched the woman pick up the phone. He turned to the officer closest to the elevator buttons.

"Hit a few different floors. At least two below our destination. She was calling security is my bet and I don't want a welcoming party. If they interfere too much, we'll arrest them as well. Hmmm, possible accomplices and interfering with police officers serving a warrant should work nicely." He smirked. "Possible Accomplices always scares the pants off of them and they usually can't back off fast enough."

"Reasonable." the man replied as he hit several buttons with a smile.

Right on schedule, when the elevator doors opened, several gentlemen in black suits were waiting.

"Officers."

"Gentlemen."

The two groups just stared at each other.

"As you can see, the elevator is full. I suggest you take the next one." Feng Mingjing said politely as, with a gentle chime, the elevator doors began to close.

During their ascent, the one rookie on their arresting team coughed lightly. "What are they trying to do, sir? We're the police. They are security." A puzzled expression covered his young features.

"Think of it like dogs in the dog park. Dogs that are there everyday think the park belongs to them. They will often confront what they believe to be new dogs." he looked at the rookie. "Today, they are learning what it is like to confront the wolf."

"Follow my lead. It will be just fine." He turned his gaze back to the numbers as floors flashed past on the read out.

Liu Tingyu looked up from her text from Feng Mingjing. Jiang Cheng had created a group text for the three of them. Easy connection and no one else was in the group. Instant communication.

"He's in. Let's go to work, people!" she walked up to the the gates of the mansion and hit the buzzer.

"Yes?" answered a tinny voice from the speaker.

"This is the Beijing Police. We are serving a search warrant for this premises. All individuals are to cease and desist all activities immediately. Please, open the gates." Liu Tingyu's voice was pleasant. There was no reason to yell at anyone. Yet.

A startled squawk came from the box before the sound was cut off. A moment later, the gates began to open.

"Remember what we discussed and cover your rooms thoroughly. It's time to do our Inspector proud!" she smiled at her team.
