Lost In Time (Druig)

Chapter 12: Mission

The calm before the storm; a period of unusual tranquillity or stability that seems likely to pressage difficult times. No matter the difficulty of explaining what it meant, it felt like this storm was almost coming over this village of the Amazon when the Eternals suddenly arrived here.

Nonetheless, the villagers still tried to avoid what kind of storm they might were going to face, as they had gone back to their work like nothing was going on, or wanted to take a break from all of their hard working.

And somehow, it had begun to become a little bit quieter right now then expected even if the village had taken a break, as the air filled itself with a fumy and filmy atmosphere in the weak light of this afternoon. It's as if the Amazon somehow knew we are having company they're not used to.

Anyhow, after the arrival back to the village, Thomas and Anna immediately returned to their homes. But instead of keeping themselves warm during this sudden foggy weather, while the sun hided itself behind the clouds, Anna still managed to have her curiosity in plain sight.

She's seated on the bench in front of her house close to the conference cabin, as her house is closely to mine and the cabin, but right now, she's watching my every movement, and also a little bit of what's happening inside, as the doors aren't closed. 

I can say she's definitely curious what the sudden arrival of these Eternals mean, and I could say the same for me, because I could've gone back to my home after their arrival, but my curiosity stopped me immediately.

I could've wait for Druig and the others to finish their conversation, whatever they have to talk about, but currently I am standing secretly at the side of the opened doors of the conference cabin, listening to everything they have to say, knowing there's a reason why they came here.

And because of this sneakyness, I can't even observe the Eternals properly when Druig sent them in the conference cabin. I am trying to, but I don't want them to notice me that quickly to know I'm wiretapping them.

However, when they walked into this village, I observed them lightly and they surely don't look like the persons I saw in his memories, but so didn't Druig. Well, their features are still the same, because I'm talking about the clothes ofcourse; they adapted themselves to the normal world as we know it, as they didn't age one bit. 

And on the contrary, I noticed not all of them are here, so I luckily I don't need that stupid paper with names, still laying inside my drawer next to my bed. On the other hand, there's this one other man I don't recognize at all, carrying a metal object in his hand, as he wears a formal suit. 

This guy isn't for sure an Eternal.

And I wouldn't consider it really a bad thing when I decided to stay to listen, but still it made my heart lump into my throat immediately, while my emotions were and still are all over the place, not wanting to believe it.

If I didn't stay, I wouldn't have known Druig's true mission after all when he came to Earth 7,000 years ago with the others. He might have told me afterwards, but maybe he wants to protect me, and he could've eventually not told me; I will never know.

It also makes things even harder, besides the fact I still don't know my real truth we found out about a few days earlier. I guess that's the last thing Druig probably wants to deal with, as I feel he has a lot going on with himself instead.

And to clarify things; Sersi, the matter manipulator, just told the mind controller the real truth about his mission, and with also alot of other things he wasn't expecting, making myself also not being able to control my emotions.

It's their leader Ajak, the spiritual leader of the Eternals, the healer, who unfortunately isn't here anymore, which makes Sersi the Prime Eternal right now; their leader.
