South Dakota, Ajak's former homestead, 2023
We are back in South-Dakota again, before we leave this planet to find other Eternals out there, telling them the truth about their existence.
I am curious what or who we're going to find, but I'm glad I don't have to face this journey alone.
I take a deep breath as I stare from the porch towards the Domo Phastos and I rebuild, as it flies above no man's land, humming because of the engines within.
Luckily, it was easy to fix this spaceship, so that we can continue our journey across the cosmos.
However, this place is again giving me a hard time, that I actually want to leave as soon as possible. It's because this place is reminding me of Ajak, having our last conversation ever, and whom I wasn't able to save.
It's almost making me cry, but I am trying to be strong. The tears flowed enough already.
I slowly made my way back into the house, and ended up on the other side in the kitchen, where I am met with Phastos' young adopted son Jack, and Thena, as she's struggling with a device that belongs in the kitchen.
And Jack, well, he's watching Thena slowly, probably figuring out what she's doing, while he's trying to grab something from the shelves above him. But I can already see he can't reach it because of his height.
In the meantime, Makkari, Druig and Phastos are watching the local news with Phastos' husband Ben in the living room on the tv. And as I thought so, it's still showing the enormous stone figure in the Indian Ocean.
According to the news, it has left more questions than answers for authorities. But my attention is more focused on the three Eternals, eating their stomachs full with snacks, and pizza, which makes me smile a little.
By meeting Jack and Ben, you can definitely say Phastos' faith in humanity has restored. They're so sweet, that it's almost giving me a hard time to also leave them.
I am snapped out of my thoughts, as Thena suddenly puts her hand in the toaster, trying to figure out the meaning of this device. Thena, what in the hell are you doing?
I looked confusingly towards her, as Jack does the same, while I lean my arms on one of the stools from the kitchen table to watch this happening. Luckily the device isn't in the outlet, because then it would've been another story.
"Are you okay?" Jack asked the goddess of war simply, and because of that, Thena removed her hand, looking questionably towards Jack. Her face is certain right away because of the little boy; this isn't the way of using this device.
"I get confused sometimes." She explained herself. "Yeah, me too." Jack said simply, smiling a little towards Thena.
Jack probably already noticed his father's friends are a little, weird, knowing he accepted the fact where his father came from.
The little boy then suddenly looked towards me, making me stumble a little because of his looks. I am still standing here after all, saying nothing, and that's noticeable.
"So, dad said you are Chloe, his original leader or something, but I'm not understanding his story quite well. He doesn't say a lot to me, but I hear him speaking with dad. And, you look like you're stuck in the 80s." He said with his soft voice, also questioning how I'm looking right now by observing my clothes.
I hummed a little as I raised my eyebrows towards him, knowing it's a difficult situation. However, this boy has a smart eye, as Phastos probably learned him everything about the periods of time.
"Oh, I kinda was stuck, but it's difficult to explain little one." I said, as I quickly take a look towards my clothes, not wanting to explain my whole story. I still need to be careful around kids, knowing it can spark questions.
