Chapter 42: The Four Horsemen Of The Apocalypse

(Four figures, whose appearance signals that the end of the world is near)

Socotra, Yemen, 2023

Everything is going according to plan, but let's be honest, this is just the beginning. From this point, everything can still happen.

It can also go wrong in the worst way possible, but I'm not going to think about that, because otherwise it will distract me from the plan I want to go well. And besides, I don't want to keep myself nervous all the time.

The Domo is flying above the island Socotra in the Indian Ocean, close to Yemen, and close to Tiamut the Communicator.

The Celestial is taking his energy in the form of an active volcano, that can erupt in any moment notice. So by that means, we are just in time.

We all agreed on the plan, but we haven't seen Ikaris or Sprite yet, so we are definitely going to stumble upon them in a matter of time. When it will happen, I don't know, but in the end, we need to stick to the plan.

Sersi and I also agreed on our back-up plan if Druig fails,  hoping it will not come that far. If I take control of the Celestial, I might get myself killed, or something else will happen I never intented to. So Sersi will need her powers to freeze it eventually, killing it in her way.

Yes, I've said to the Eternals many times we are not here to kill Tiamut, but to just put him to sleep. But that's why we made a back-up plan in the first place, and we need to be strong when it's coming close to that.

With my teleporting powers, I teleported Sersi, Druig and Makkari with me faster than light. In a blink of an eye, we are not surrounded by the blackness of the Domo with Thena and Phastos, waiting in the spaceship to distract Ikaris, but we are standing right on top of a hill. It remembers me of Babylon again.

The golden lines around my suit deactivated themselves because of my power turning off, and my heavy breathing slowed down a little. It doesn't mean I'm now really tired, but I needed much power to do it anyway.

Because I am used to this teleporting, the others but Makkari need a minute to redeem themselves from them teleporting so fast from one place to another.

However, just like I am looking towards my fellow Eternals as I'm making sure they're okay, the hard blowing wind immediately distracted myself to look towards my surroundings.

We are standing on a flat yet bumpy surface, surrounded by nothing but soft yellow rocks, while beach is close behind, and below us. You can almost hear the waves from the sea, crashing onto each other and the shore, as Mother Nature causes it.

It's an island, so by that means, it was created from something, and that something is an active volcano, which is now Tiamut.

Whenever you step closer to it, your walk will get steeper, and closer towards the sky because of the height from the volcano. It explains why we are standing a little higher in comparison to the beach.

Anyhow, my heart started to beat faster because of the sounds that's filling my ears. It's not only the wind that is almost blowing our suits or my headpiece away, but the volcano is already erupting, pulling so much energy from it's core. It's probably where Arishem planted the Celestial seed billions of years ago.

We are slowly walking towards it, as we're all staring at it in disbelief. The volcano is spitting dark black clouds, in combination with red orange hot lava, and purple lightning bolts, which are all very dangerous whenever you step closer to it.

And here we are, the Eternals, to close to an erupting volcano. What else is new?

"It's time to put a god to sleep." Sersi suddenly said convincing, as we're all looking at each other for a while, thinking the same thing.
