Callahan's POV

I stood there as Carson closed the doors behind her saying, "I don't mind as long as you promise to be gentle."

I blinked.

My auditory system might have been acting strange lately as I heard the human saying she didn't mind.

She didn't mind?

Bah! Carson McAllen was a human who lived her life on her ethics. There wasn't any way she would give in to it. The moment she gave in, that meant the end of Hell.

But still the words she said rang in my ears. Did my auditory system get junk after centuries of using those?

Should I get a quick check up with Gorgonzola, our demon doctor? I heard she was the best. But I had never needed to go there as my body always regenerated my wounds. There was a spark to being a first generation Devil.

You regenerate fast. You have more powers but not like Lucifer.

Now that I had mentioned Lucifer, I had to go visit him. But that damn fallen angel! I could not find him and he had been missing for a decade.

I recalled Carson could understand our ancient Devil language. How could that be possible? She didn't have any traits of a demon or a devil, not even an angel. At first, I thought she was an Angeline, an angel daughter, or a child of an angel but I searched her background, even her generation history. There was no mention about mating with an angel.

The more I watched over her, the more confused I felt. Droyth's charm spell couldn't even charm her. He was the strongest incubus in all over Hell. If his powers didn't work on her then she wasn't an ordinary human.

As if that wasn't enough.

Miorith, she was a second generation devil yet her chaos couldn't harm her. She was brooding over the other day when Carson threw the ice cream on her face. My lips twitched and I heard Carson turning on the shower.

"Hello, brother." A voice came before me and it was Gretarioth sitting on the chair Carson sits on.

"What are you doing here?" I asked through gritted teeth.

"Just checking on your little human." He smirked which made my stomach boil with internal flames of hell. He always managed to get into my nerves.

I smiled, showing an emotion exactly opposite of what I was feeling. "I am afraid, you don't have to do that. I can take care of my little human."

"Oh! Why are you so possessive over her, dear brother?" Gretarioth asked, a little doubt played in his eyes.

I asked back in reply. "Why have you taken an interest in my human?"

He grinned and I felt the need to punch his face. There was something that told me Gretarioth had something in his mind and I could not understand what it was. He shrugged. "Who knows?"

He had always been trying to get my things. The souls, my position and my hells. I knew for a fact that he acted on jealousy but he was always carefree with his attitude and responsibility. That was the reason he wasn't chosen for a general despite being almost as strong as me. Almost.

I was assigned with Seven Hells and I wasn't going to give anyone my position even if I was bored. But after the contract with Carson, I didn't feel much bored as my eyes always stayed on her even if I wasn't with her.

Well, if I said that she would throw tantrums and my most favorite scene would be when she would get flustered. It felt nice when I heard her heartbeats.
