Once we got back to the apartment, Callahan dropped me to the room. He seemed a bit...tense
"Did something happen?" I asked as he didn't seem to hear it at first then looked at me and asked, "What?"
I gave him a look. "Did something happen?"
"No... Nothing, just something didn't feel right." Callahan said as his eyes went to the distance on the road.
"Like?"
"Hiriotus's older child, Robert. He has horns."
"So...?" I didn't get what he meant by that. What had anything to do with horns? Mr Denver didn't have horns but maybe he cut them off or something?
"Hiriotus is a low class demon who doesn't get horns. Even if they get stronger, they still don't get horns because they are born like that but his child got horns which is impossible."
"So, did Lily cheat on him?" I asked with shock.
Callahan chuckled. "Not likely. If Robert's blood was from another demon, Hiriotus would know immediately. We can sense and smell our origin."
I nodded. "So what does it have to do with horns?"
"Horns and our skin color shows our powers and worth." He looked at me.
I raised a brow and found myself intrigued with the information.
Callahan explained, "The bigger and darker horns we bear, the more power we have in us. The curves show that we are a higher class."
I recalled Callahan's horns were bigger than Droyth and had more curves almost like a bull. They stayed on his head like a crown.
He took a seat and explained about their skin colors, "And the skin colors. First generation has dark red, lava-like skin. Second generation has black, third generation gray-black almost dark ash color skin, fourth generation bears dark blue skin. Fifth generation bears dark green and the sixth generation bears dark brown."
"But Mr Denver has blue skin as well." I recalled him from the office when he had transformed.
"The color is not thick enough and also he doesn't have horns." Callahan informed. Now I remembered. His blue was a bit dull compared to Droyth's skin.
"So, the darker the color of your skin is, that will show your origin?"
"Yes." He smiled.
"So what color was Robert?"
Callahan's brows furrowed and there was a tense that wrapped his body. "His color was...blue-purple."
"Purple is not a good color?"
"No, that's not it. His color is more likely changing to purple..." Callahan seemed to think about it for a moment as he pursed his lips. He mumbled, "Changing colors..."
I still didn't get why it was putting him in deep thinking. Because it would be great if the boy had powers, he could be great for Callahan.
"I will have to look into it." Callahan muttered to himself as he asked me, "We hadn't met his younger child, did we?"
"I met him and he is very cute although Mr Denver said he still hasn't gotten any powers yet."
He nodded. "To be honest, there is no mention about his second child in our record."
"You guys keep records?"
"Don't you do that as well?" He asked.
We do. All of our records were proof of our existence. Wait! Did that mean his second child had no existence in Hell?
