I blinked open my eyes and I found myself in...

Wait!

I sat up immediately and moved my eyes around the familiar room. The small room from my parents' house. The soft single bed, the cupboard, the desk and chair. They were all the same.

But something felt different which I couldn't decipher.

The smell of the detergents from the clothes, the old wood scent of the desk and the wind smelt of roses and some other wildflowers, I could distinguish them as if my smell had enhanced.

Well, I could smell them before but not too specifically like now.

Footsteps echoed as my ears perked and I looked at the door. It was soft and precise. The wood screeched underneath each steps. It was not too loud but it could be heard. The smell from the person was too familiar. Was it mom?

Laughter echoed from another direction as my eyes went there. Behind two walls, a soft childish voice and the other one was hard yet gentle. Andrew!

Shit! Mom is coming!

I immediately slid the covers away from me as I was about to stand when I saw the door was opening. Oh!

She was coming to my room. Then it was fine.

My shoulders relaxed as she finally opened the door and peeked inside.

"Hey, mom!" I said.

"You finally awake..." She said as she entered with a tea cup. The fragrance hit my nose and my stomach rumbled.

My mom laughed. "Are you hungry?"

"Err... Yes..."

"You should be because you hadn't eaten since last night." She said and I nodded.

"Why? What happened last night?" I asked as my mom gave me a look.

"You took a cocktail and thought you could handle it but after finishing it, you were out." She said, shaking her head and chuckled. "Don't take it if you can't handle it okay? Callahan was very worried and others were worried too."

I nodded. "Okay."

Last night...

Last night...?

LAST NIGHT!

Images flashed in my mind about last night. Almorach! What happened to him? What about Callahan? Where was he?

"Mom, where is Callahan?" I asked.

"Oh! He said he wants to make the breakfast so he is in the kitchen with Miory's husband and Droy as his sidekicks." My mom laughed. "They are very funny."

I laughed with her as well but it was forcefully as they were making breakfast?

Okay! Something doesn't sit right.

I was sure that I was dead and Callahan would be having my soul but here I was sitting in my room and chatting with mom while having tea.

Wait! Was this Hell? Or Heaven?

I looked at mom for a minute or two with wide eyes as mom gave me a questioning look.

I poked her nose. "Carson! Don't poke my nose, you know I don't like it!" And then she started to sneeze.

Okay! She was real.

My mom's nose was really sensitive and because of that she had dust allergies. Nobody was allowed to touch her nose because after that she would sneeze like a hundred times.
