Callahan stiffened as those words left from Avaloth. I could feel the deafening silence roaring on us as Gretarioth, Miory, Droy stayed quiet. It wasn't clear what she meant by 'you'. Was it Andrew? Me? Callahan?
Andrew asked, "What did she mean? Why would any devil want to kill normal humans like us?"
"Could be for revenge." Gretarioth answered and Callahan's body became rigid.
I shuddered at the thought that someone was out there trying to kill both me and my brother. But what would they gain?
Gretarioth said, "I am going to look out for any traits or anything."
He left as Callahan said to Droy. "Go find K'han."
Droy nodded and vanished.
Avaloth had fallen unconscious and Andrew took her motionless body in his arms as he carried her in bridal style and laid her down on his bed.
He asked Callahan, "Will she be alright? Or, does she need more blood?"
Callahan nodded, "She will be fine. She is just exhausted. Not cultivating enough powers made her weak."
Andrew released a sigh then he hung his head as he sat beside Avaloth's laying body. "I am sorry. I should have told you all."
He brushed his hair with his fingers as he looked up at all of us, "I should have told you about Avaloth. She never harmed me. I knew that she was a little dense and..." He looked away as he mumbled, "I got angry at her because she disappeared."
Callahan smiled, "Well, I can see the resemblance."
I blushed as I always got angry when he disappeared.
He scoffed, "Your sister gets mad when I disappear."
Andrew looked at me with wide eyes and I looked away as Callahan said, "Alright, Miory, let's go scout the area."
Callahan and Miory vanished and I knew he did that on purpose. So, we could talk and remove this tension between us. What a cheeky yet considerate devil!
Andrew looked at me as he pursed his lips. He looked guilty but he was a bit shy. He sighed as he said, "I am sorry I lashed out. I panicked when I saw her like this."
"No. It's okay. I know the feeling." I said as I sat beside him. I knew I would have done that if it was Callahan in Avaloth's place. But the difference was it was always Callahan who saved me yet I hadn't done a thing for him. I wanted to do something but he was just too strong that he wouldn't need my help.
On the other hand, Andrew was smart and intelligent. He knew how to handle his life unlike me. He knew what he wanted and that was why he saved Avaloth.
I tilted my head to the devil who was still unconscious. "She is cute."
Andrew chuckled. "That she is."
"Then why did you treat her like that?" I glared at him.
"I just got angry, that's all."
"Don't treat her like that! U should always treat a woman with proper respect! Devil or not."
He nodded awkwardly, "Yeah, yeah, I know." Then he looked at Avaloth and said, "I will. I had taken her for granted and had been a jerk to her."
"I don't know about her since I have met her like this," I said, "but, if she had been doing everything without any contracts or anything in return. She is not a bad person."
