Meredith is sitting in her classroom. The bell just rang and her students are slowly filling up the room. When everybody is in Meredith closes the door and takes place in front of her studentes. 

"So everybody...please sit down and be quiet for a moment. Before we start our day I have something important to tell you all."

The students take place and look curiously in her direction. 

"Some of you may have noticed some changes on me lately. My mood often changes and my body... "

"Yeah! Your boobs have gotten way bigger Miss Grey!" One of the kids, Mike, interrupts. 

"Very funny Mike, thank you for that. Anyway...this obviously has a reason. I thinks some of you have guessed it by now but...I'm pregnant!" Meredith tells the class. They boys don't seem to care that much, beside the obvious body change, but the girls go wild. 

"No way! Congratulations that's really amazing! We're so happy for you!" The girls cheer. 

One of the quiet kids raises his hand. "Yes, Ben" Meredith susses the class and lets Ben talk. 

"Do you already know the gender of the baby?" 

"Yes, in fact we found out last week. Do you guys have a guess?" 

"Boy, girl!, no definitely a boy!" The students shout. 

"Okey, okey, lets all take a guess. I'll bring a little present for everybody who guesses correctly" Meredith laughs. "Okey, I'm going to write 'boy' and 'girl' on the whiteboard and you can all write your name below the gender you want to go for."

The students take their guess and write their name down on the whiteboard. Everybody is having fun guessing the correct gender. When everybody sits back down Meredith takes a picture of the whiteboard and erases it again. 

"So... I am going to have..." The class makes a drum roll on their tables. "A boy!!"

"Congratulations!" the class cheers and some girls stand up to give Meredith a hug. 

"So that was the big announcement for the day. Now let's continue the day. Please take a seat"

The students take their seats and pay attention for the rest of the day. After class it's lunchtime and Meredith heads to Derek's office. Derek brought lunch from home today. "Hey honey, how is your day so far?" He greets her with a light kiss on the lips. 

"it's been great. No nausea of other things. How has your day been so far?" 

"Fine, missed you tho" He smiles and kisses her again. Meredith deepens the kiss and they get lost in each other. They don't hear the knock on the door and are interrupted by the door opening. They quickly pull away from each other and look at the door. 

"Oh, Mike. Hello, what can I do for you" Derek looks at the kid standing at the door. 

"Mr. Shepherd, hello. I was just wond-" He starts when he sees Meredith sitting close to Derek. "Miss. Grey, hi..." 

"Hey Mike" 

"Are you...you two...do you..." Mike stambles. Meredith laughs and looks at the confused look on Mike's face. "Are you two dating?" 

"Yes, Mike, we are" Derek laughs. "I thought everybody knew it by now. We haven't been secret about it..."

"No, we didn't know. I don't think anybody knows because news travels fast around here... So the baby...it's yours?" 

"Yes, it is" Derek smiles widely. "How do you know about the baby?"

"I told them today. They were all very excited" Meredith smiles.

"Anyways, congratulations you two. But I came here for the details of the football practice this afternoon. The guys have been asking about it all day." 

"Ah right, well here is the plan for today, make sure the rest knows too?"

"Alright, thank you Mr. Shepherd, and again, congratulations!"

"Thank you Mike." They both say as Mike heads out of the office. They continue lunch and Derek tells Meredith all about the football practice this evening. Meredith doesn't really care but she tries to act interested for Derek. She knows how much he enjoys coaching the team, especially sinds last game's win. 

"...and that's it for today. It shouldn't be too hard. They have to save their strength for the upcoming game." he finishes. 

"Alright baby. Sounds like you have everything under control" She smiles. "So at what time will you be home tonight? Ill make sure dinner is finished by then" 

"Probably around 9. If you are hungry you can eat without me, no problem" 

"Lately I'm always hungry" Meredith chuckles. "I'll wait for you. I think I'm going to make some spaghetti. I don't feel like cooking a big meal"

"It's all fine by me. I'll see you tonight" He gives her a final kiss and leaves his office. 

*Later that night at home

"Honey, I'm home!" Derek yells as he steps through the front door. He walks to the kitchen expecting her to be there but he is met with a dark and empty one. He can see a some pans and plates on the kitchen counter but no Meredith. 

He walks to the living room but when he finds that empty too he moves upstairs. When he reaches the top of the stair he hears soft cries coming from the bedroom. He rushes in and finds Meredith laying in bed. She's wearing one of his sweaters and some grey sweatpants. She is cuddled up agains his pillow and is crying softly. 

"Meredith, baby...what's wrong?" He asks concerned. He walks up to her and sits beside her on the bed. Her back is facing him. He stroaks a strand of hair out of her face which reveals her red stained cheeks. 

"I-I-I" She snicks "I tried to make spaghetti" She cries. "But I forgot the meatballs" Tears keep streaming down her face. 

"Oh honey...its no big deal...really." He tries to calm her down. She turns around and buries her face deep inside his chest while she continues to cry. Derek can feel her tears soaking through his shirt. "Do you want me to order something?"

"I guess...I am still very hungry. This baby is eating up all my energy lately. My apatite has been so big."

"Alright. I'll order something right away. You just relax, maybe take a shower, and I'll clean up downstairs. I'll call for you when the food arrives."

"Thank you baby, you're the best" 

Derek goes downstairs and orders them some food. He while he waits for the food to arrive he cleans up the mess Meredith made in the kitchen. He chuckles. How can such a tiny woman make such a big mess? 

The doorbell rings and Derek answers. The delivery boy hands him the food and Derek pays. He closes the door and calls for Meredith. The brings the food to the kitchen and grabs two plates. He's setting the table when he hears Meredith enter the kitchen. 

"Der...I am sorry" 

"For what honey?"

"For ruining dinner, and crying" She sits down and looks at the ground. "My hormones have been crazy lately. I have to cry at the weirdest moments and most of the time I don't even know why I'm crying."

"Baby, come here." Derek pulls Meredith up from her seat and sits down himself, placing Meredith on his lap. He holds her while she snuggles up to his chest. " You never, ever have to be sorry for crying. You have every right to cry. You are carrying another human being inside your belly. It truly amazes me how strong you have been through everything. I know you are scared and I am scared too but I know we are going to get through this. You can cry as much as you want and I'll hold you as long as you want. You know I'll always be there for you even when your hormones are going crazy. I love you Meredith Grey, and nothing will change that" 

"Thank you Derek. So much. And I love you too. So much"
