Awaking the next morning, Damian and Raven headed for the training room. The other Titans greeted Damian warmly, he kept a somewhat strained contact with each one over the 3 months but that didn't change the fondness they felt for the Titans insufferable Robin.
Kori knew how much Damian liked to train so it was safe to say she was shocked when he insisted on training last. He felt his need to show off his new skills and asked if he would like to train against anyone.
"I welcome any challengers." Damian said as he looked at his teammates. Raven was out, she would not be fighting her boyfriend today and he didn't want to fight her anyway. Jaime remembered how it went last time and also opted out.
Garfield was on board, he had never had a fight against Damian before and they had always talked about a match between the two. It would've happened sooner but then Damian had to leave. Garfield trained as usual while Damian was training in a whole new way.
"Ok, let's see what you got. 3 months better have been worth it."
"Oh they were, Logan. Don't underestimate me." Damian replied in a cool manner. The two got ready with Damian taking on a whole new stance than anyone has ever seen before. It was intimidating but it was also confusing. The way he was holding his sword made it seem like he wouldn't reach Garfield.
"And fight!" Kori shouted.
I'm one second Damian was across the entire room and Garfield already had several scratches on him. Damian saw no need to hold back considering he could use animal abilities to heal his body like a lizard regrowing a tale.
What creeped Garfield out was that he couldn't even react. It was like a gust of wind had gone over him and that was it.
"Holy shit." They heard Jaime say.
Garfield turned into a lion and enhanced his eyesight. He had to keep focus on Damian. What he hadn't realised though, was that for Damian he was moving incredibly slow.
Damian was just too fast now. He wasn't even a speedster and he gave the flash a run for his money. It just didn't seem possible. Everyone was in shock including Raven. He'd given nothing away about his new skills to her. He wanted to but he didn't want to spoil the surprise.
Garfield went for him but Damian had already vanished and slashed him on the cheek. Garfield fell on the floor and turned back to a human before tapping out.
"That was incredible, bro!"
"Amazing!"
"Well done, Damian!"
Damian looked upon his teammates with a smile before sheathing his sword and walking to Raven. He grabbed her hand and took her away to her room.
"Well I guess training's over then?" Garfield said on the floor out of breathe.
"Easy dude. I don't think you should be moving so much after that. You got destroyed." Jaime said with a laugh. He helped his best friend up and sat him down on a bench.
"Yeah, no shit. I couldn't even see him."
"Not surprised at all."
As Damian pulled Raven along with him she complimented his plenty saying he was fast and looked so strong.
They entered Raven's room and Damian hadn't said a word since the training which Raven found odd. She was starting to worry about him.
"Dami, are you ok?"
Damian didn't answer, instead he just dropped to the floor unconscious. Raven gasped and quickly rushed to his side.
"Oh my god, Dami?!"
Raven scooped him up in her arms and she quickly began to heal him. She couldn't see anything wrong with him but that clearly wasn't the issue.
He began to stir awake and Raven put a hand on his face to comfort him in case of any confusion.
"Raven? What happened?"
"You just pulled me here after your fight with Gar and you passed out. Are you ok?" Raven asked, worried. Damian saw this and caressed her cheek with a smile on his face. She leaned into his touch and looked at him with pleading eyes, she was really worried as usual.
He saw that she had moved him to the bed and she laid beside him. He must have been out for a while.
"You know how you need to rest and you sometimes pass out because your powers use up so much energy?" Damian asked. More just reaffirmed.
Raven nodded, beginning to understand where this was going.
"It's the same with me. My new skill use up all me energy so I have to train a lot because my body is not fully capable of using them yet. Usually I'd learn this 5 years later but... you get it." Raven nodded and smiled at his explanation. It was nothing too serious and something they could get under control. She was glad.
"Ok. Thank god you're not dying." Raven let out.
Damian put his head to hers after giving her a gentle kiss. "I wouldn't learn it if it would kill me. I'm not going to die and I'm not going to leave you. Don't worry."
"Ok. I love you." Raven said as she snuggled up to him and he wrapped his arms around her.
"I love you too."
Damian trained a lot longer than usual after that but aside from that and fighting bad guys, the two spent almost all their time together. It was fun to see Damian's new skills and every Titan actually lost against him. With Raven there to catch him when he fell and look after him.
