Break

That laptop screen had not come off for 3 days. The screen was as bright as it had been the day it was first turned on. On the same screen, doing the same thing: nothing. It was doing absolutely nothing.

Damian stared at that laptop intensely. He had looked at all 15 images again and again and he still had no lead on his case. Some guy had managed to make off with 5 million dollars in cash from Jump City bank. The Titans had failed to stop it and Damian was not letting the case go. He refused to believe a lowly bank robber could steal that much in his city.

Raven had seen him work hard but she knew that this was overdoing it by a pretty large margin. She thought about how his eyes must be melting and how much sleep he was getting. She had one stubborn boyfriend.

As she approached she noticed he still hadn't taken in her presence. Even when she was being loud as possible. Yeah, she thought, this is ridiculous. He had barely moved an inch from looking at all the security systems of the bank and all the people who saw him go off. They guy just walked in and took it.

"Damian?"

"Mmm?"

"Can you look at me please?"

"One minute."

Raven was not having this. Fortunately, with a sinister smirk on her face, she thought of a way to get his full attention.

"Do you like this new underwear I'm wearing? I think it maybe shows a bit much, what about you?"

Damian's eyes popped open fully and he hurriedly turned around to see her fully dressed and smirking at him. He really was a man. (Sorry 😂). She caught his face between her hands, forcing him to look at her as she knelt down to the height he was sitting at.

"Trapped now, Birdboy. No laptop."

"That's unreasonable, this guy's still out there." Damian said while trying to look at the laptop. Raven quickly closed the lid and kissed him on the lips. She was really pulling out big guns for this.

"Honestly, how much has your own girlfriend have to do to get your attention."

"Raven, I'm sorry but this is important. I'll give you all the attention you want after this."

Raven could not believe this. Was she really gonna have to use her tactical nuke of her big guns for this? He can't keep away from her otherwise but now it was just sad. He was obsessed with this case and he thought Raven wouldn't try anything. He's getting it now.

"Well, clearly this case is more important to you than me." Raven said while trying to hold in a smile. She let go of Damian's face and stood up straight.

"Beloved, you know that's not..."

"No, no. It's fine. I see I'm not worth your time. I guess I'll just leave. I'm sorry to try and have a relationship with you with all the love and respect I have for you." Raven actually felt pretty guilty but looking at his shocked face was just as amusing as it was sad.

Damian finally stood up and ran towards her. He embraced her tightly, forbidding her to leave. She couldn't get free if she wanted to and she was quite happy with that. She smiled in peace and knew that she'd finally won.

"Tell me you're kidding. You're the most important thing to me and a case could never change that. I'm sorry, Raven. I love you, please don't leave me. I'll stop I swear." Damian said rapidly. Raven never thought she'd see Damian begging and she had to enjoy it.

"Good boy." Raven said as she encircled her arms around him. "I love you too... but also I was kidding." Raven said with a laugh.

Damian looked at her with shock and sheer horror of Raven's trick. "You evil demon. I thought you were leaving me you idiot."

"Sorry. If it helps I did feel a little guilty about doing it." Raven confessed. She looked him in the eyes and began to see a small smile form on his face. Raven kept smiling too.

"It does actually, it helps a bit. You are forgiven for now. I'll get you back though." Damian promised with a smirk. Raven cupped his face again and kissed him again before leaning her head against his.

"You can keep dreaming all you want, Dami."

Damian laughed and promised that he wasn't dreaming and would get her back soon.

"Now, come on." Raven said grabbing his hand and pulling him towards the door.

"Where are we going?"

"We are going to have dinner and get you a much needed break. If you defy me I will not let you kiss me for a day."

"Ha yeah, like you could last that long without us kissing."

"Oh I'll do plenty myself but you won't. I'll be the one kissing."

"Ok fine." Damian said with a dramatic sigh.

They went to a fancy restaurant and had a very nice dinner. Raven always loved their nights out. Damian did too but Raven always felt very special when she did it with him. She really was  in love.

After dinner the two quickly disposed of any clothing and managed to just about make it to the bed before getting too carried away. They both enjoyed that one maybe a bit too much. Some neighbouring Titans may be scarred for a while.

There they laid in each other's embrace. They smiled at one another while just staring into each other's eyes. Emerald and amethyst.

"Thank you, Raven."

"For what?"

"For me break. I really enjoyed it."

Raven smiled as they kissed once more. It was a deep kiss that signified all the love they had for each other. Raven showed that to Damian just by closing his laptop and taking him out.

"You're welcome, Dami."

The two snuggled up and closed their eyes, ready to sleep, before Damian spoke once more.

"Raven?"

"Hmm?"

"I love you."

"I love you too, Dami."

And with that they slept in peace. Waking up to each other's faces and re-emphasising their love came later.
