To say they were excited would've been an understatement. Damian and Raven had been looking forward to this Holliday for the longest time. They couldn't wait to get away from the superhero life for even just a little bit.
Lately things had been quiet in Jump City. Crime had actually hit an all time low and even an old lady being mugged was rare to see.
Damian didn't understand the silence or particularly like it. Though, it provided him and Raven to take their long awaited holiday with no fuss. For that he was happy.
"Make sure to call when you get there." Kori pleaded as the two were walking out of the main door. Suitcases equipped.
"Kori, we're not children. We're only going away for a week. Besides, we're not even that far away." Raven reasoned. Raven knew how motherly Kori could be. It was good and bad at the same time. Going on holiday with her boyfriend seemed to be difficult for Kori in her motherly state it seemed.
"That is not an invitation to come and visit. Please leave us alone." Damian interjected. He wanted no disturbances on this. Honestly he had found himself to be needy lately.
He planned on making love to Raven at least ten times on that holiday. It was something Raven was aware of and prepared for. Honestly, she couldn't wait. She was just as needy as him. She did smirk and roll her eyes at his comment.
"Yes, yes alright! You've said that about twenty times now, Damian. Just have fun ok?" Kori said almost sadly.
The couple nodded and waved her off before heading to the car that Damian procured. Raven had said about teleporting but Damian insisted that this was a 'non-superhero holiday' involving no powers or anything like that. Raven agreed and it wasn't even necessary for her to teleport seeing as it was pretty close (ish).
When Raven told Kori it was close, she may have lied a little. For an alien who can fly? Yes, it was close. Anyone else? No. They were actually heading to England.
The thing about Damian and Raven that was not known a lot was, they weren't the type of people to go to the beach or anything like that. They went somewhere with history, with similar culture to home and with books. It didn't come as a surprise to anyone when they said they were heading to London. City people apparently.
"How long is the flight again?" Raven asked. From the tone Damian could tell that she was not keen. For someone who could basically fly, she got very nauseous on planes.
"Between eight and nine hours I'm afraid, Beloved." Damian confessed. He didn't feel great about putting Raven through that flight. Still, it was the best option and he promised to help her. Three years of dating made that a given.
"Ugh, this is gonna suck." Raven complained. Damian had to laugh a bit.
The flight was actually pretty uneventful. Damian put a movie on for Raven that seemed to take her mind off of the sickly feeling that was usually there. Although, when they landed she did throw up because of the landing. Damian felt a little guilty.
They went to their hotel which was more like a penthouse for them. Damian insisted it was nothing fancy and Raven took his word for it. She'd been to enough expensive places with him to know he was right.
The trip was amazing for them and they ended up doing nearly everything. They went to the Tower of London, went to the London Eye, the shard and Damian made love to Raven ten times. That part was their favourite.
Still, they loved London. It was a brilliant place full of history and actually felt welcoming.
The British accents were somewhat confusing at times but it was easy to get the hang of.
They honestly didn't want to leave. Then Damian had a crazy and, what would be, stupid idea. Nothing was going to stop him though. It was not a big deal if they didn't do it.
"God I love it here." Raven said as she looked out of their window. Damian had just finished round twelve somehow. Raven looked at the view with nothing but joy. She actually felt so at home there.
"Me too." Damian took a deep breath and stood next to her at the window. "Raven?"
"Mmm?" Raven turned to him with a smile on her face. One that said she was happy. Damian loved that smile and felt his own mouth move into that same smile.
"This is gonna sound crazy but... What would you say if I said we should move here?" Damian shyly asked. He turned away in nervousness.
Raven actually just smiled wider. She hugged Damian with all her might and he seemed to smile with the same weight of happiness as her.
"I'd say that's a great idea. Let's do it." Raven happily exclaimed. Was it hard for them because of superheroing? Not really, Raven can teleport after all. Was the price a problem? No. Damian had them covered for a big house near every place they loved.
"I love you, Damian. You made this trip so much better you know." Raven said.
"I love you too, Raven. Although I'm pretty sure I just fact checked all the history stuff a lot, I couldn't imagine being here without you." Damian said.
They moved to a passionate kiss that signified their devotion and love for each other. It meant they were serious about all of that and they were happy to do it.
Only thing was Kori but that could wait. They had two more days of holiday before they moved into their new home and gathered their stuff from the Tower.
They were just happy to have found a place in the world that met their every want and need. Including each other.
So I just wanted to say that I will be going to London on the week of the 6th of July for my birthday. I know it's a way off as yet but I thought I'd let you know while I remember.
I suppose this whole one shot was also a hint at that 😂. Funnily enough I love London; it's like my second home. (For those who don't know I am British 😂)
