CHAPTER THIRTEEN
YELLOW, THE COLOUR OF HATE

HE PUSHED HIS WAY PAST STUDENTS ON HIS WAY TO DADA. He didn't have to push past many, those who were stupid enough to not know who Augustine was, they were pushed. The ones who knew, well they'd sink into the walls to pretend they weren't there, thinking that maybe Augustine would kill them and use them as his playthings.

He'd laughed when he heard that, a silly rumour going around the school, telling younger years to stay out of Augustine Lawrence's way or else, or else what? He'd questioned Theo, who'd told him of the rumour.

Or else he'd kill you, and reanimate you for his own bidding.

Not a bad idea, Augustine had replied grinning. And the rumour was set.

He'd rather enjoyed the terror students felt whenever they saw him. It reignited something deep within him, the only time he'd felt like this was when he'd killed Marina, and when he'd slammed that rock into Jasper.

He felt alive.

Walking into DADA he was immediately greeted with Professor Abernathy's snide remark. "Ah so glad you could finally join us Mr. Lawrence,"

Augustine refrained the urge to roll his eyes as he spoke through gritted teeth, "sorry I'm late, I was with Mcgonagall,"

Abernathy waved his hand, motioning for him to sit.

So Augustine slowly walked to the back of the class, to the empty seat by Tom. Sliding in, Tom turned ever so slightly towards him. If you weren't looking, you wouldn't have known, but Augustine did, he always knew when Tom was looking at him, it was like a sixth sense he'd mastered since the start of his time at Hogwarts.

"Anything interesting?" He asked Tom in a whisper, alluding to the class before him. Tom just gave him a half shrug.

"Nothing much, he's been prattling on about his dog, you?"

"Apparently I'll be a great healer,"

Tom scoffed in disbelief, "really?"

Augustine shrugged, "apparently," he repeated, a smile tugged at his face as he thought of the future. The girl killer as a healer, how ironic.

"Are you ready for tonight?" He then asked, his eyes darting to Tom's stoic face.

Tom was silent for a moment, as if letting the words Professor Abernathy was speaking, sink in. Then he turned, "yes, I will be on prefect duties tonight,"

The plan was simple, Tom would patrol the hallways whilst the rest would start their new club, Tom would then pop in once it was clear. If they were caught, Tom would say that he was escorting the rest of the Knights back to the common room. It was simple.

It would've been simple if Bunny could keep his stupid mouth shut. Bunny the great oaf had decided to talk loudly once they exited the DADA classroom, his hand on Augustine's back as he pushed him down the halls to care of magical creatures.

Augustine had said he'd tag along with Bunny as he got his last results back from a test he'd been dreading.

After their small fight, he thought it was the least he could do.

"So I was thinking. ." He was saying as Augustine begrudgingly pulled himself down the hallway following him.

"Maybe we could practice the Crucio curse?"

"Maybe you could shut your mouth," he hissed back angrily.

Bunny grinned that manic grin that made Augustine terrified of him, "make me."

He shook his head quickly, "stop it," no more relations with Bunny was harder than Augustine had expected it to be. Bunny was cocky and arrogant, flirtatious and boisterous. It was hard not to smile whenever he turned his way.

Bunny dropped it quickly, though the smile stayed where it had always been; plastered to his face like it had been stuck on, hastily.

As they entered the care of magical creatures classroom; a small room near the Forrest, cluttered to the brim with taxidermy of creatures with horns and fangs, and other scaled things that Augustine was tempted to rip to shreds to make sure they were actually dead; but he couldn't deny the craftsmanship of it. They did look very much alive.

"Ah Edmund!" Kettleburn sat at his desk, dark hairs wild and unkempt with a clunky boot propped up onto his desk as he tweaked at the hinges. If you were to see Kettleburn, the first thing you think of is that he looked oddly like a pirate.

"And who's this? You're definitely not in my class boy,"

"This is my friend, Augustine sir," Bunny said before Augustine could reply. Kettleburn's blue eyes stayed on him longer than he would've liked.

"Ah Jonah!" Kettleburns eyes darted to the open door, Augustine turned in time to see Jonah Diggory enter.

Jonah was a short, ratty boy that Augustine had seen sneaking around often. Even though he liked to describe Jonah as a rat , there was still a certain charm to his face. He was boyish like Bunny, though slightly skittish and odd, meaning his personality did not match Bunny's whatsoever. Every time Augustine had accidentally had a conversation with him, it was always cold and stiff, neither of them knowing how to speak to one another.

"Hello," he said meekly as he entered the room, his yellow tie loose ready for the upcoming spring weather.

Bunny grinned as Kettleburn gave him back his essay, he did the same to Jonah. All Augustine did was give Jonah a nod of acknowledgement

Augustine felt rather awkward now that Bunny had someone to share the joy (or devastation) he would soon encounter. So he just stood, and leaned back onto one of the tables to sit onto, his feet planted safely onto the ground as he watched Bunny's eyes scan the paper, a grin stayed on his face.

"I got an E?" He said slightly surprised. His eyes flicking up to Augustine from his parchment.

Augustine felt his heart beat proudly, "well done,"

Jonah clicked his tongue, ruining the mood entirely, that idiot. "I got a P,"

Augustine tried to keep his smile from spreading, "shame." He said as he picked himself off the table, "come on Bun, let's go find Brax," he added on quickly, desperate to leave the odd room.

But Bunny didn't move, instead his head turned to Jonah, "are you okay?"

Augustine bent his neck back in exhaustion, why couldn't he just leave Jonah to wallow in pity by himself?

"yeah . . I'll be fine, I guess," Jonah shrugged sadly.

"See? He'll be fine, let's go," Augustine perked up slapping Bunny onto the back, urging him to move.

"Do you know what Rebeus got?" Bunny instead asked, completely ignoring Augustine.

Augustine shook his head, surprised, "it doesn't matter what that oaf got! Let's go!" He pestered rather agitatedly. He did not care for any of them at this moment in time, not the hufflepuff freak, nor the giant that was allowed to roam these halls.

And not Bunny if he kept ignoring him like this.

Bunny turned his head towards Augustine, ever so slightly, eyes still trained on Jonah's figure. "Could you shut the fuck up, yeah?"

"Fine! I'll leave you with your best pal," Augustine replied harshly, giving Jonah a sneer before pushing past the hufflepuff and out of the room, storming off towards where he knew Abraxas would be.

He was only there for Bunny, he would never be doing anything out of the goodness of his heart ever again, not if this is what he gets! To be ignored, like a complete idiot.

After that, he realised he really did not like the colour yellow, at all.
