CHAPTER FOURTEEN
F**** C***

ABRAXAS WAS EASY TO FIND. His bright blonde hair stuck out against the masses of dirty blondes and brunettes as Augustine entered the library.

There he sat, nose in a book in the far corner of the room. Augustine came to sit opposite him, sinking into the chair, leaning his head right back. His long legs outstretched causing Abraxas to pull his legs closer towards himself in fear of contact. A germaphobe, Augustine hadn't realised.

"Has Bunny rubbed off on you or something?" Abraxas asked in disgust, motioning to the lack of space, his lips curled in disgust at the sight.

"Most likely," he replied a little mad at his new habit, instantly pulling his legs back towards him as he propped himself upright to look at Abraxas.

"How's muggle studies?" He asked, changing the subject quickly. He didn't want to stay on the topic of Bunny for much longer. Not after seeing him so close to Jonah.

"Shit. Terrible. Absolutely revolting." Abraxas spat out, dragging a hand through his hair, scraping it back before taking his wand and wrapping the hair with it, until finally his hair sat in a neat bun.

On anyone else it would've looked too feminine, but on Abraxas, Abraxas could make anything look good enough if you let him.

"is he already annoying you?" Tom Riddles voice sounded quite entertained by their conversation, from where he stood behind them.

Augustine didn't have to look behind him to recognise his voice as Tom had sunk into the chair besides him.

"Guess what?" He began, disregarding his last teasing question in favour of a new question, his eyes glittering with a certain smugness that usually made Augustine mad, however on Tom, he found it almost sweet.

"Bunny had a terrible accident and he's forced to never speak again?" Augustine asked hopefully, a smile spreading across his lips.

"Unfortunately it's not that good," Tom replied, entertaining the joke, a slow smile creeping up onto his face, "I've heard, from a certain person that I might be head boy next year,"

"Really? How did you find out?" Abraxas asked, head titled in interest.

"Slughorn, he wasn't allowed to tell me really, but you know what he's like, he's desperate for me to get it," he shook his head smugly, taking Abraxas' stray quill and tapping it against the desk. "He probably begged Dumbledore to let me have it,"

Abraxas flipped a page, squinting for a moment, "Who will get head girl?" he inquired before snatching the quill right back.

"Holly Crawford, of course," Tom said, his eyes landing on Augustine, causing himself to tense up, and to look away from the other Brunette in favour of looking towards Abraxas instead.

Abraxas rolled his eyes dramatically, "so!" Changing the subject, he closed his book, "what got you in a mood?" He asked Augustine, brows raised in hopes for some prodding and poking into Augustine's psych.

Augustine shrugged nonchalantly, though inside, he was bubbling, sizzling, "nothing nothing,"

Abraxas rolled his blue eyes, "well obviously something is up,"

"It's just Bunny!" he burst out, unable to keep it in any longer, slamming his hands onto the table, causing every other student to turn and look to him disgustedly.

Abraxas spoke up once realising, "sorry," his face a picture of embarrassment as he apologised to the other students, a hand outstretched in hopes they'd understand.

Augustine didn't feel embarrassed. He felt angry.

"He wouldn't leave that Diggory boy to be pathetic by himself, he just had to comfort him!" Slamming his hands onto the table once more, Abraxas winced before turning back to the other students, whispering sorry once more.

"What the fuck are you looking at? Can't you see we're having a conversation here?" Augustine asked angrily in a hiss, staring at the other students at the table opposite the trio. They paled at the sight, before turning back to their work.

When Augustine was angry, he did not care for silly things like how others viewed him.

"I don't understand it, he's a Hufflepuff weakling for Merlins sake!" He'd known about the reputation of Hufflepuffs, bar one or two, they were pathetic little things who'd roll over and die when faced with fear.

All except the spiteful ones, the ones Augustine had great respect for. That once included Olive.

A hand outstretched to him, patting him gently. "You must be quiet in the library," Tom's voice spoke slowly. "You don't want us to get kicked out now, do you?" A twinkle in his eyes indicated he was joking, but his tone was deadly serious.

Rolling his eyes, he slumped into his chair, "no,"

"Good," he clapped his hands together in triumph.

"No wonder Bunny did this," Abraxas spoke up, "his hearts almost as big as his appetite,"

Surprisingly, Tom snorted. It was odd hearing him laugh, the stoicism Tom sported had left little room for joy.

"Appetite of a fucking troll," Tom added, "is that why he did magical creatures? So he could stick with his own kind?"

"Most likely, him and that Hagrid boy are practically related, don't you think they look alike?" Abraxas replied, Augustine didn't want to remind him that Hagrid wasn't half troll, but half giant, but that would ruin the fun.

Augustine watched back and forth, like a tennis match as they joked.

The whole thing about Bunny and his appetite was easy enough to understand, even without making the troll jokes. He told Augustine once the only reason he ate so much was in spite of his parents.

He never really asked why, he didn't like to pry into peoples problems like that.

After making fun of Bunny for another moment, Augustine smiled, finally.

....

the hour hand had just passed nine by the time the Knights left the Slytherin common room. The silence was almost deafening as they snuck around the dark hallways.

"I'm starved Brax, I think I might die!" Bunny broke the silence quite often with his dramatic ramblings.

"Bun you ate a few hours ago!" Reinhardt responded behind him.

Where Augustine stood, in front of the lot besides Abraxas, he turned as Bunny replied, "I'm a growing boy! Do you want me to die?"

"That would be great actually," Abraxas snorted as they passed a classroom.

"Would you all shut up?" Flicks voice sounded from the very back besides Theo.

Augustine didn't understand why Flick had come, not until Theo told everyone that Flick was pretty interested in learning the dark arts, which surprised no one other than Augustine.

"The whole of Hogwarts can probably here us by now," Theo said causing Augustine to roll his eyes.

"So let's all shut the fuck up?" Augustine suggested turning a corner. Abraxas smiled at the comment.

There was a few quiet fines that left the rest of the Knights lips as they continued their walk, Augustine just hoped their night would soon get better.
