CHAPTER EIGHT
KEEP IT SAFE
(KEEP IT BLOODIED)

WHAT AUGUSTINE HADN'T EXPECTED, WAS THE LOUDNESS OF THE GUN AS PIUS FIRED IT INTO THE AIR, SIGNALLING THE HUNT HAD STARTED. He'd jumped at the sound, and then the cages opened revealing the sight of about forty muggles clambering out of them, each after the other, dressed as if they'd just come from their jobs. Some had suits on, some had other outfits, like one man was still dressed in his butchers clothing. Augustine didn't know when they would stop coming out.

But once they did, the Knights were handed their guns. A long barrelled thing covered in silver. He turned to Bunny, who was already cocking his proudly. He looked at home holding it. Like he'd been doing it all his life, and with a sinking feeling, he realised he probably had done.

"So, we just shoot them?" He asked curiously, seeing the muggles run off into the distance, through the masses of trees.

"Yup, the ones who escape are then murdered once they reach the end of the Forrest — that's where our friend lives."

"Friend?"

"Mhm, Fenrir, I think? Little bit older than us, a werewolf, isn't that insane? I wonder if he'd turn me into one. ." Bunny mused dreamily with a smile.

Augustine didn't get Bunny. He had some sick fascination with vampires and werewolves, hoping that one day he'd end up with the infliction. Augustine wouldn't dream of being one of those foul things.

The other thing he didn't get, was why they had a werewolf living so close to them. And why this Fenrir guy hadn't hurt them yet.

As if Bunny had read his mind, he spoke, "we do this for him — but don't get me wrong, I love doing this — but if we don't, he might start on us and I'm not really a fan of being wolf food," he joked heartily smiling.

Augustine just stared at him.

"Shall we go then?" He asked motioning with his head to the forest.

....

The knights had split up, Bunny and Augustine ventured further into the woods, obviously for Augustine's initiation, whilst the rest had decided to scout the outer side of the vast woods.

They stood. their vision clouding with green, Augustine already felt like his head is swimming with it. That was until they hear something, a twig snapping.

Bunny was off to a hill, running quickly up the hill with surprising spreed before dropping down, lying flat on his stomach — in position to kill instantly. Augustine followed suite, dropping down next to him to watch.

The only thing he thought was, Rosier couldn't do this. So he had to. He has to show Bunny he deserved to be a Knight.

And when the Muggle girl came into view, hobbling along, ridden of her shoes. Bunny was already pointing his gun towards her. But aiming low, not at her, at her legs.

"Bun-" he started to tell him of his mistake, but was cut off by a loud bang.

Bunny shot straight at the girls leg. She cried out in pain and Bunny grinned. A perfect aim Augustine realised. Perfect for beating bludgers.

This was probably where Bunny got it from.

Getting up, he bounded down the hill towards her, a happy skip in his step, Augustine just sat up, watching the scene unfold.

Bunny crouched down smiling to her as she gripped her leg — or what was left of her leg anyway.

Crying, she was pleading for her life, but Bunny just tutted. A manic looking stare in his blue eyes. A complete contrast to Tom's blank expression when he loomed over Olive.
