Pregnant

My tears keeps on falling while I'm madly driving. I don't know where to go and I was blinded with the frightening news that Cassandra spilled to me earlier. She was fucking pregnant and Ace was the father!

But. But Ace told me that he never touched a woman since I left him. Did he lie to me?

I was pulled out from my trance when I saw his name on the screen of my phone. Kanina pa sya tumatawag at ilang messages na din ang nakita ko na galing sa kanya but I ignored them.

I can't stop myself from thinking if it's his way of getting even? If it's his way of getting revenge from what I did in the past? Is this my punishment because I hurt him so bad? Fate must be celebrating because once again, we're both devastated. 

Nagring ulit ang phone ko at nakita kong si Harvey ang tumatawag.

"What the hell happened Maze? Where the fuck are you?!!"

"H-harvey."

"Are you crying? Why are you crying?!"

"I-i need some time off Harvs. I need some air. Hindi muna ako uuwi. I don't know where I'm going but I badly need this. I'm so tired Harvs."

"Maze, what happened? Tell me what the hell happened? Is this something about Cassandra Valdez coming to your office?!"

"Uhmm."

"What did she do? What did she tell you? It must be something frightening because you're fucking affected. What did she tell you, Maze?!

"She...she is pregnant with Ace child."

"What the fuck?!!"

"Please tell Mom that I'll just unwind somewhere. I-i can handle this Harvs, don't worry about me. I know I can handle this."

"Just update me of your whereabouts, and don't do something stupid Maziekeen! I'll be mad!"

"I won't. Don't say anything to him, please."

"I won't and I might smash his fucking face if I saw him!"

Natawa lang ako pero lumuluha padin. Pagkababa ko palang ng tawag ni Harvey ay pangalan naman ni Ace ang umappear sa screen ng phone ko but I cancelled it. A message from his appeared from my screen.

"Why are you dodging my calls? Baby, are we ok?"

Yun lang ang nabasa ko. Inoff ko na ang phone ko at nagpatuloy na nagmaneho.

Mas dumoble pa ang nararamdaman kong pagod dahil sa pag-iyak at sa pagdadrive. Binuksan ko ulit ang phone ko and  opened my data. Hindi ko alam kung san ang punta ko but I chose my way to go Southbound.

And then I found myself driving my way to Batangas.

Napasubsob ako sa manibela after kong magwithdraw ng cash from the ATM. Wala pala akong masyadong cash na dala, I forgot my charger in the office and my powerbank is almost empty. Malapit nadin akong malowbat because I used my data in searching for a place to stay.

I heaved a deep sigh upon entering the premises of Canyon Cove in Batangas. Mabuti nalang at may available room sila at hindi kelangan ng reservation. With this drastic decison of staying away, I came unprepared with everything. Wala din pala akong damit at kung ano pang gamit.

"Baka meron naman sa resort. I'll just gather what's available."

Everything went smoothly upon checking in. The Hotel Staff are accommodating and friendly. And I learned that they have a boutique which sells clothes and other stuff that I need. Nakahinga ko dun ng maluwag.
